I wasn't implying them, I said their character seems better than some of the women. And know I don't know the character of them personally, just the impression that they have left. I think Mandisa and Paris were very dignified and darling. I liked both of them. But there were 2 girls who made the top 6 that I felt based on their actions showed not as much class as the men. Probably immaturity. Sorry if my post offended you.

But we should always remember we are a family. And we get a twice-a-week Thanksgiving where we can all get together, say some stuff, get maudlin, maybe cry a little, and at the end of the night hug each other and look forward to the next one. We are blessed to be able to share these threads with each other. I really love these threads. *MAN* ;) That was a really sweet post. We are truly blessed to be able to share things even though we are all physically far apart.

Great thread, sj, it's been a lot of fun. I'm headed out for vacation and will miss discussion for the next 10 days.
Can you add me to the ping list? I've been on the thread all season, but haven't been on the ping list, but didn't want to miss any AI news that may come out after the season is over.
Thanks for running the thread. T2s

Good morning! How did you like last night's show?

The thing about Elliot is he's another Harry Conick Jr. Like Sinatra, great voice, great singing talent, but only appeals to his home town crowd and ladies over 50. From the looks of the young women who turned out to meet him when he went home to VA, I think he's got a younger group of fans too.
The kinds of songs Elliot sings well are not going to be playable on top 40 mainstream radio. His genre is too limited in this day and age.
I think you're wrong about that. He's just got a million dollars worth of advertisement from being on American Idol and placing #3. I think he's going to have some hits that make it to the top 40. I do agree with you about him being like Mr. Dreamy, Harry Conick Jr, and that's a good thing. A REAL good thing. LOL
He'll do fabulous in New York city and Vegas.
I never even thought about that, but I think you're right. I really want him to make it big! He's such a sweetheart. Watching him grow from the beginning tryouts to what he has grown into today is amazing. He's really come a long way. The one thing I have always liked about Elliot is that he seems to be a very humble man. People like that in him. I wish him all the success and happiness in the world. It will be fun to follow his career. :o)

We have Cingular and have a package that includes a ridiculous amount of text messages. If we go over that amount it's 10 cents a message.

I do agree with you about him being like Mr. Dreamy, Harry Conick Jr, and that's a good thing. A REAL good thing. LOLAlso worth noting is that Rod Stewart did the timeless classics thing, and now Christina Alguer...whatever...is about to do one as well.
I have a feeling those old time songs are about to be very popular, and if so, Elliott could be in the right place at the right time.

Christina Aguilera Goes Back To Basics, New Album Due August 15th
Paying tribute to the music that inspired her, pop icon Christina Aguilera will release her third studio album, Back To Basics, August 15th on RCA Records. A modern take on vintage jazz, soul and blues from the 1920s, 30s and 40s, the album is wildly inventive with a throwback style creating a sound thats gritty and raw. Back To Basics reunites her with producer Linda Perry as well as creating new collaborations with producers such as DJ Premier.
The sexy first single, Aint No Other Man, produced by DJ Premier and Charles Roane, is set for release on June 12th. It will be world-premiered on the MTV Movie Awards on June 8th.
This is a concept album that follows a bold, set vision, stated Aguilera. The touchstones are Billie Holiday, Otis Redding, Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald.... what I used to call my fun music when I was a little girl.

That photo proves that Taylor wanted Kat to be eliminated, thats for sure!
I don't think any of the other AI contestants really liked Katherine's personality.
To: Wyatt's Torch
Thanks for posting that picture. That really says it all as far as who's got class and who doesn't! I will be so ticked if Katharine wins this thing.

Maybe his mouth isn't smiling, but his eyes sure are.I noticed the same thing, but I don't think that is the same as outwardly jumping for joy. Of course he is happy. But he showed humility and acted in an appropriate manner.

Maybe his mouth isn't smiling, but his eyes sure are.I'm sure he had mixed feelings, but at least he had the class not to immediately plaster a big smile on his face as if to say, "Whooo-hooo! It's Elliott who got the boot and not me!"

I agree. I've said all along something is just off about her personality-wise. She's a beautiful woman, great voice when she's in range, but it's weird how she smiles through everything. As for McDaddy, he's so odd. He reminds me of Jessica and Ashley Simpson's uber-stage dad.

...music isn't "modern" enough for today's pop scene.Today's pop music is awful for the most part. I whole-heartedly agree with your opinion that SOMEONE should bring back the music lost for so long, it might as well be Taylor!
"Long Time 'A Comin'"...genius!

How did you like last night's show? You should have seen me- crying like basketcase for Elliot. At his parade, at his mom choking up, when he got elimiated, at his review. I'm actually sort of glad it's over, so I can be done crying. LOL
I'm going to have to move all heavy and pointy objects away from the TV next week in case Kat wins. ;-)
