Bell claimed to be a Libertarian, but admitted he voted for Kerry, who I consider a traitor.

So I hope she takes his money and kicks him to the curb, all the while yelling, " I faked it every time" to the amusement of their neighbors.

(Yes, I know God will forgive me)

Since, evidently there is no divorce in the Phillipines,... you don't suppose there was any need for a prenup?

60 and she's 23 or so. These old guy/young woman marriages are not as frowned on in the Philippines. The take over there is that Art Bell is a man of wealth and power who would like a young wife to make some more babies. I would be totally amazed if they didn't have children. She prolly considers it an honor to have children by such a great man. That's how it is in many 3rd world nations. IMHO. Her logic would be my children will grow up in a very solid existence compared to if I married a 23 year old Filipino man

I will be absolutely disgusted if they had children. How would you like to be that child? Graduate high school when your father is in his 80's, if not dead??? I consider it grossly immoral to have children when a parent is more than 40, let alone 60! You also increase the probability of slamming your child with death early in life. I have just a slight bit - very slight bit - of experience with this. My parents are approaching 60, while many people my age have their parents in their 40's. Don't be selfish and hurt and potentially permanently damage your children (I'm not referring to myself, BTW)!

I'm listening to the replay of last's night show (fell asleep during the first half-hour break). Astonishing - the first time he met his wife was at the wedding!!!

Oh, yeah. Hundreds of hours of video conferencing. What a splendid way to date someone!

If she was at least 40, I would be OK with it. Some people can't stand being alone, I accept that. But a 40 YEAR DIFFERENCE?!

Art's my favorite C2C host, but he sounds crazy (I am listening, even now...). He thinks Ramona is influencing his romantic affairs from...elsewhere...and would not permit this marriage to occur if she didn't want it to happen.

He says it's been going on for "months." It sounds like he started this courtship within weeks, if not days, of his wife dying.

Their skin seems to hold its smoothness much longer than Caucasian women.

and filipinas hits a brick wall at 40

I'd say more like 50... but when they hit that wall... it's at around 100mph.

Art is moving to the Phillipines to contact the Mother Ship!

He is retiring to pursue his favorite hobby. Good luck and best wishes to him and his new bride!

The thing is, Art was believed to have an extraordinary bond with his wife (Ramona). I remember Matt Drudge saying it was one of the strongest marriage relationships he had ever witnessed. After listening to the first hour of the program last night, I think his major thought is that they (his new wife) were meant to be married. The two main reasons he appears to give for marrying her (other than falling in love, if not mere infatuation), is the apparant metaphysical deal, and his new wife's physical beauty (and, in my opinion, I don't think she's all that beautiful; I mean, she not's ugly, but I've seen many better-looking women). Art says she's the "most beautiful" woman he has ever seen. I am certain that isn't true, but hopefully that's reflecting on who she is as a person.

But we are talking roughly 2-3 months of dating by teleconference and e-mail before marriage - and just after his wife died. That just sounds totally laughable. Deciding to marry someone without ever physically meeting them? I'm thinking he was desperate to marry someone. I think he's going to regret it very soon.

I've heard him talk often of his residence in the desert in the southwest...now he's going to live on the 19th floor in a building in Manila. I wonder if he isn't trying to totally close out his old life with his former wife. To start something totally new. He did suggest he might only stay there for a year before returning to the USA. He also said he may never return.

He also never informed anyone else about his marriage until it was done. It almost sounded like the radio broadcast was the first time he mentioned it to anyone, other than his superiors.

I don't know about anyone else, but I would NEVER marry anyone unless I was ABSOLUTELY SURE that it was the right thing to do, and the right person. I would probably date at least a year. Or at least a significant fraction of a year. I doubt Art has given this much rational, objective and logical thought. But it is his life, as he said.

Unfortunately, none of the callers (about ten or so) expressed any criticism of his decision. I know, that would probably sound horrific, the deed has been done.... But still...

Oh well. We all have our own lives to live. I've done many a thing I deeply regret now.

But Art is 60 Y.O.....and may have health issues we dont know about.

Plus, after they test that mushroom cloud bomb in June, who knows what fallout will be disturbed at the Nuclear Testing Grounds....

Also, if we get into a nuclear was this fall, Art probably doesnt want to be in the US.

Sorry for your loss. I think you did the right thing by backing off. When my first husband and I divorced I was hurting pretty bad, but I figured it was a good time for self reflection. So I took about 3 years to heal myself. I'm glad I did.

I think after a major life change, most people are vunerable and open to being taken advantage of. I wish Art all the best and you too.

I won't dispute you...you saw that stuff. Maybe that's a thing for Filipino girls IN the PI. In Alameda, it looked different to me there.
