We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good evening!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Interest rates have been slowly rising; Treasuries have hit a four-year high.

A grand jury is looking into whether Barry Bonds lied under oath three years ago regarding steroid use.

Former DemoncRAT Senator Mike Gravel is set to announce his candidacy for President--the earliest such declaration in the campaign season.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I hope you only find a few things that weren't bolted down, out of place, and that things are well with the gh and rose tree.

Freepmail returned.

Well, the greenhouse is ok, and the rose trees look a little weatherbeaten but have survived. One lost one branch, but otherwise they are ok.

Hubby is the one I choose to go up on the roof and check for hail damage. But he will have to wait until I am home this afternoon.

I have to go to a rehearsal for Easter Vigil this morning. Since there are 60 in my RCIA class, they want to make sure we know what we are supposed to do so that we aren't all milling around in confusion at the front of the church, I guess.

There are only 4 in our RCIA class this year. I don't know if they're having a rehersal or not. Probably not.

Actually, for most people MONDAY is tax day. Check www.irs.gov and click on 1040 facts (or something like that) in the center of the page. The first fact which pops up is that this year, taxes are due on Monday.

Oh, and GOOD MORNING, ALL.

For self employed farmers who aren't incorporated, March 1st is TAX day.

Our fiscal year runs Jan 1 to Dec 31.

I pulled all my info together the second weekend in January and dropped it on the accountant's desk. There's no way we could do our own taxes.

It costs us a couple Thousand to have our taxes done, but it saves us money (alimony) in the long run.

I would imagine.

Years ago I used to work for a computerized tax company. Many of the customers were around the Saratoga, NY area involving race horse owners. I kid you not. The returns were over 8 feet tall.

I love Yukon Gold potatoes! They taste like they've already been buttered, and have the smooth, silken texture of reds. We prefer boiled to baked, and so use only reds or golds.

Yay! But what on earth could have been the reason for making you wait almost two weeks to hear that news?

My guess was the report was slow to come back. I really like the Doc, and don't think he was stonewalling me.

If anyone tries the tire/garbage can thing with potatoes, please let me know. I probably would be more interested in the can idea, though, or just use a really, really big pot.

Am thinking that I will try this potato idea in a huge pot instead of a can. I normally don't have room for potatoes.

I just know of another case recently where someone had to wait over a week to find out if something was malignant, and that was a pretty grim week for the whole family, since it involved a child. You would think the doctors would realize what they're putting the families through by not telling this news more promptly (or alerting the family up front of what the time frame is).

Best to you!

POTATOES ARE EASY TO GROW VEGETABLES

You can grow potatoes in the ground, in stacks of straw or mulch, in black plastic bags, in garbage cans or to stacks of tires. Potatoes can be a fun and easy crop to grow.

Garbage cans or containers: Old garbage cans, or wooden or fiberboard-type containers are suitable for growing potatoes, if they have adequate drainage. You can conserve space by growing them in this manner. A word of caution, though: The plants tend to dry out more rapidly when grown in containers, so additional watering will be needed. Otherwise, you're likely to end up with misshapen tubers.

I may try the garbage can method also to compare tires to cans. ;-)
