We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Well, the jury in the Federal courthouse in Alexandria decided that Moussaoui is "eligible" for the death penalty. That is only step one. Step two is for prosecutors to convince the same jury he should actually be put to death. The first hope is that the prosecutors don't bungle their case as badly as they did in the first part of the penalty phase of this trial--if it wasn't for Moussaoui's stunning testimony, we wouldn't be here today.
Nevertheless, four and a half years after the worst attack on American soil since World War II, the first conspirator in the plot has been put in a position to die for his crimes.
The prosecution has outlined their case:
Beginning on April 6, the jury will:
** get testimony about the horrific destruction that day;
** see a videotape of people jumping out of the World Trade Center;
** hear 911 calls from people trapped in the towers;
** have read out by prosecutors the names of every victim;
** be provided photographs of as many victims as possible:
** receive testimony from 40 family members.
Meanwhile, the defense is planning:
** to talk about Moussaoui's troubled childhood;
** to show that Moussaoui is mentally unstable
On his part, Moussaoui is said to object to the efforts of his attorneys to introduce evidence about his mental state.
Stay tuned...
In other news...
Tom DeLay announced that he will not seek re-election to Congress and that he will leave that body.
Canada has announced they do not intend to re-introduce legislation that died in Parliament last year which would have legalized small doses of marijuana.
And there are reports that Hollywierd is beginning to sour on Hitlery, calling her, depending on whom is doing the talking, either too conservative, too polarizing, too famous, too stiff, or too sexy.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
I stayed late tonight at the office to try to finish up so the rest of the week will be much easier ... and had my adventure (well, my almost-adventure) of the week, too.
Around 11:00 tonight one of our supervisors came by the office for something. She asked if I was ok and seemed quite concerned about my being there so late by myself though she knows I do that from time to time. She's always a little jumpy but seemed just a bit more so this evening. She tended to what she came for and left, with cautions to me to be careful.
About an hour later, as I was finally closing down the computer and preparing to leave, one of our branch managers (and the supervisor's boss) came in ... apparently to see if I was ready to leave and escort me out to my car.
..... My mouth dropped open when he told me that there had been what seemed to be an armed robbery at the service station less than 2 blocks away!
Johnny, if you remember, it is that station at the corner after you get off the interstate as you turn onto the street where our office park is. It's right before the Cracker Barrel.
The supervisor knew about the robbery ... or at least she knew that the place was crawling with cops and something had happened ... but she didn't tell me. I guess she didn't want to scare me since I was going to be staying. But after she left, she called hubby (who was already home) and her boss. And, if I know her, she ordered her boss to come baby sit me as I was leaving ... LOL!
..... Branch manager was still out working and was closer by than hubby, in case you're wondering why hubby wasn't the White Knight coming to rescue the damsel-who-was-oblivious-to-the-distress-she-was-in.
When I left, there were still 3 police cars at the station. But I made it home with no incidents ... :-)
A local news station already has a blurb up about the robbery. Seems that 2 guys robbed the place and fired shots as they were leaving, though thankfully no one was injured.
Btw, Good Morning to the Dawn Patrol! Have a good day!
. . . . .
Reading your account of the "adventure" left me nervous about your working alone late at night. Others, thank goodness, were alert to your vulnerability and came to protect you.
Good people like you are not always aware that there are bad people out there who have no qualms about what they do. Please be careful and have someone w/you when you work at night.
Good morning! Just checking in...going to be gone quite a bit of the day today. I will try to catch up with everyone in the afternoon.
Good morning. For those who haven't tired of the Cynthia McKinney saga, she will be joining Fox and Friends in 15 minutes.
Good morning to everyone!
Good morning!
Beautiful day shaping up here. And the gold finches ate another $5 food yesterday. I will not spend $150/month to feed finches and will have to look for other ways to feed them.
Oh yum, what a feast. Thanks.
Sounds like you are going to end up with fat finches. Heh!
Good morning everybody. I slept better last night than the night before..thank goodness. And send an even more fervent prayer heavenward for our country and our leaders.
off to check the threads.....
Good morning everyone. Looks to be another warm day down here.
Good morning kassie. Nice to see you! I think I read you were (are) moving. Has that been accomplished?
Good Morning.
Yes we are all moved,but not all settled in Katy, TX.
Are you still on the 'road' or have you stopped for awhile?
Good morning.
Good morning, I have been cleaning up, mopping, dusting, etc. Boy oh boy, that is WORK.

What is so strange, this dove perches in a tree right next to my shack in the back. I have asked all the dove hunters in our neighborhood to please not shoot it. Like I said, I have never seen one before until now.
Had dinner with a man who is a official with FEMA last night, some kind of 'high up' supervisor. He told me that it will be months before our trailers are picked up from our yards, up to 6 months.
