Time for a new FreeRepublic folding@home thread.
Our FreeRepublic team of 300+ members comprised primarily of Free Republic members in good standing have banded together to donate their excess CPU cycles to a worthy cause. Via distributed computing, millions of computers around the world, contribute directly to scientific research, in the quest for a greater understanding of diseases such as Alzheimer's, Cancer, and Mad Cow (BSE).
Currently, the team is in 144th place (with 1,045 CPUs - 24,200 completed Work Units and nearly 4,000,000 points)
This is an entirely voluntary program, and if you want to learn more, please see the links posted below (or read one of the previous 8 folding threads)

I see FreeAtlanta is about to pass me...I hereby renounce all my razzing of Egon and will focus all my energy (may the force be with me) on FreeAtlanta. As I said before, I've been unable to get anymore CPUs to fend of these vicious and unwarranted attacks on my standing.
So I went into the basement and got one of the kids old Barbie dolls. Ripped off all her clothes and held her over a burnin' candle. Chanted FreeAtlanta backwards, ten times while I looked for some eye of newt. No luck on the newt.

I hope it works. Now I have kitty litter and burnt plastic all over the floor and I've got a 2108 folding.

Let go of Egon, I'll take over. He's trying a stealth takeover of my position. LMK if your mantra works, I need something to put a hex on him. I may need to take him snipe hunting.

Wow, just went over to DUmmieLand (haven't been there in a while), and it's pretty quiet. Thread #10 has been up over a month now, and there's no mention of a new one. I thought we were the ones who were suppose to give up after a couple months. Boy, they just can't follow through on anything, can they.

I got a extra chair and cold beer. Nothing like sitting on pond bank watching the clouds pass to relive stress. O and if you do not put worm on hook you are not bothered by all the biting fish.

you ever see those unattended Earthlink kiosks?.....heehee
To: Bush_Democrat
I've got three processors on 1163 right now, which wouldn't be so bad except it's a Tinker and two of them are on the Mac. Tinkers are lousy on Macs, these are going to take about a week.

Interesting size and very easy to hide from the audit queen. Now, how will I be able to hide the visa bill?
Side note: 300 watt power supply? Isn't this bad boy underpowered?

One piece at a time? Save up weekly mad money cash withdrawals? Car pool and use the gas money? Easter Bunny? Have your parents "give" you one for your birthday and pay them back on the installment plan? I don't know, be creative!
Power seems low, but with just one HD and folding all the time it's adequate. Kind'a noisy when firing on all four cylinders though. I'll be looking for one of these used in a few years.
