Time for a new FreeRepublic folding@home thread.
Our FreeRepublic team of 300+ members comprised primarily of Free Republic members in good standing have banded together to donate their excess CPU cycles to a worthy cause. Via distributed computing, millions of computers around the world, contribute directly to scientific research, in the quest for a greater understanding of diseases such as Alzheimer's, Cancer, and Mad Cow (BSE).
Currently, the team is in 144th place (with 1,045 CPUs - 24,200 completed Work Units and nearly 4,000,000 points)
This is an entirely voluntary program, and if you want to learn more, please see the links posted below (or read one of the previous 8 folding threads)

10,000 to me. It was a slow weekend, I was out of town and someone shut down InCrease Friday morning. Lost a lot of time. I've got another 2107 wrapping up in about 24 hours, though.

You are right behind me on the list and soon to pass me I'm sure. Chris Primavera just blew by me like I was standing still. (hi Chris) I wish I had more CPUs to defend my standing but I've been unable to secure a government grant to purchase more "folding" power.
My newest WU is a 2108 which is a massive 50,000 frame and sucking time from my poor 'puter. Expected finish is sometime after the New Year.

You know, this is two days in a row, between the 3 and 6pm updates, my 24hr avg has been "666". I really don't like that, and am starting to get a complex about it. Egon, can you write a script that will get rid of that for me? Thanks !!!
Is it Frid..... oh, never mind !!!!

Egon, can you write a script that will get rid of that for me? Thanks !! Hah! I wish!
It's all I can do to keep my stupid gateway machine up and running. I've had to cold-start the thing three times in a row today. I think I'm going to hold off on having it fold until I see what's going on with it.
So if you're like AndyK, and your entire grid of machines is showing yellow and red... bear with me...

I'm hoping some crafty coder will write a script to install Egon's FAH-Monitor, including the scheduler configuration... heh.

ROTFLOL
It's right around the corner. When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on, LOL.
As for your weird 24 hour avg. point totals, the best solution is too add another CPU. You can always take out a 2nd mortgage to finance the latest & greatest super-duper modded game box. Even if your not a gamer, just think how much fun it would be showing it off and the bragging rights to saying, (snootily, with nose in the air), 'I only use it for folding.' :^D

Anyone else have this happen to them?
I wanted to watch the Ruby Jane Smith video on the CBS.COM web site but my browser (Firefox) wouldn't play the video because I didn't have real player installed.
So... I installed the player plug in, rebooted and checked my FAH log to see how much folding time I lost (only 7 minutes).
Watched the video - she's is fracken awesome - closed the web site, chatted with Egon and noticed the FAH icon was gone from the system tray!
Anyone have any idea how to get the system tray to reload without having to use task manager to cancel FAH and restart it again?
Thanks - y'all have a GREAT Friday.

Anyone else have this happen to them?...chatted with Egon... hmmmmmm...I think I see your problem. Is there anyway you can undo this? Wash your mouth out with extra strong bleach may be able to help. Also you may try burning your keyboard. Try napalm.
Good luck, this will be a tough one to fix, but we're here to help.

Be careful when fooling around with those client.cfg files. I just figured out where those points from this moring went (along with some from last night). At least they are not binned for the DUmmies. ;-)
