Post 88, stainlesbanner: "ESX uses a modified linux kernel."

From http://www.windley.com/archives/2005/01/performance_mon.shtml : "Because the host machine is running ESX (a modified Linux kernel) ..."

From http://channels.lockergnome.com/it/archives/20041027_vmware_esx_21_update.phtml :
"We finally got our new Dell server VMWare ESX 2.1 mounted in our rack and running. Installation was pretty simple and straightforward; the VMWare server software is based on a modified Linux Red Hat kernel."

Post 89, Golden Eagle (to stainlessbanner): More linux lies. No it doesn't, because they don't want to have to release their source code for free.

More linux lies, get me something from VMWare and you'll have your winner. Of course, it doesn't exist, since as even the noob told you it's not based on Linux, because as I told you they don't believe in giving that code away for free.

I see his sources but they are still wrong, the ESX server creates a privileged VM running redhat (8 or 9 I think) and that is the console into ESX and the linux kernel people refer to..
