Agree with all of this. PTFMWB best vocal? No way on earth. Best performance of the year? Yep. Then he dialed it down with a very soulful version of Something. Simon couldn't help but make that rather good comment. Taylor can sing. And sing quite well (just listen to the mp3's of his studio stuf). But he was also born to entertain. MTFMWB was pure entertainment. You can;t help but smile when you see that type of performance. Loved it.
Scotty did a wonderful rendition of "Broadway" last year. Elliot's was flawed in comparison....first weakness I've seen in him.
Just about every red blooded woman gets it. Something about the way he moves. Oh and he really can sing very well too. ; )
His own music is really good. I have his cd and thoroughly enjoy it. It's more on the lines of "Something" than PTFM.
Nothing yet.
You misspelled "every".....
Oh, and the sound mix is always horrible. Music WAY too loud, vocals are always drowned out. I'm listening to the Dolby Digital mix through very good speakers/processor so it's not on my end. They need to fire the sound mixer. Horrible.
I have his cd. It's mellow, kind of country/blues/rock. It's not wild and crazy. His live shows that are on the net are definitely an insight to what his concerts will be but his own music that he has written is more on the lines of Something and Trouble. I love it myself.
Singing voice, but her speaking voice, like listening to fingers on a blackboard.
Last night it really looked like they didn't get much coaching.
I take it that dialidol doesn't take into account text votes? I bet Kat goes home, not the squeaky voiced one.........
Go back and listen to Home again....
Who do you think that song is for? Imagine a woman sitting at home waiting for her man, he's signing her a song about being away from her too long and he just wants to get back to her.
A tune like that helps a guy out who's spent too much time away from his lady. Send her that and she just might be really, really happy to see him when he gets back.
I think Chris has departed from his typical in recent weeks, but returned to it last night. I would like to have seen him do something a little different in one of his two performances to night.
Votes for him, because he blows the rest of these guys away. It is a completely different level of performance. I like several, but he's the only one that I would consider a recording artist. Maybe Paris is 5 years.
I don't think it would be possible to listen to a full album of Katherine, with the occasional lapses into screaming.
Honestly, I thought that second song of hers, on the ground (no wardrobe disasters), pleading with some macho other-race guys about getting the horse out of the cherry tree, was the best, funniest thing she did. My warped sense of humor found lots of innuendo. This is the first time she didn't over-sing and start yelping. Her fans who find her sexually appealing must have loved her on the ground howling with joy.
I've been Kelli's advocate. I miss the humor, sense of wonder and confusion, and appreciation she brought to the contest.
Can't wait to see her in situation comedy, with some light singing...she's this year's star.
This has been my problem with her all along. Her performances are 100% contrived all the way down to the timing of the creepy pagaent smile. She has zero emotional connection with the song or the audience. She can sing but is not an artist.
Ask yourself, have you ever seen Billy Joel and Paula Abdul in a room together at the same time?
Things that make you go "hmmmmmm".
From the "obscure side projects" department, name the band he performed this song under?
Chris is no recording artist. He's rather limited in his range, he cannot hold a note and he screams too much.
Stick him in front of a rock band and he's fine and very contemporary. I could certainly see a crowd of mullet heads banging for him.
Paris, Elliott and Kat are your studio people.
I got that feeling last night, too. A few of the better contestants were actually victims of the advice from the stars and wardrobers, and voted off.
You know I'm the Kelli advocate. Maybe what Simon needs is a night to vote someone from this year or last year back on. Get her or Mandisa or someone back, and give them better advice.
With the ones that are left, I don't really want Taylor to win....he and his fans will be much better off if he and his band do medium size venues.
Maybe they should cut their losses this year and go with Eliot....at least awareness of diabetes and support for cures/treatment would improve. Plus, they really do need a male winner....the two females remaining just are not as good as Carrie.
FOLKS, JUST HAD TO SHARE THIS WITH YOU...
LISTEN TO THE GREAT ANN NESBY if you want to know what a star is about.
Randy Jackson was not exagerrating when before Paris' audition he called her one of the greatest singers in our generation.
Ann Nesby is current American Idol contestant, Paris Bennet's grandmother, YES, one of the great gospel singers of our generation.
If you want to hear where Paris inherited her voice, go to this site and put on your headphones. Be prepared to be blown away.
NOT ONE OF THESE FEMALE SINGERS IN AMERICAN IDOL CAN EVEN COMPARE with the great Ann Nesby.

You would might like him. He's really funny. His show is on after Rush from 2-7.
