The most controversial site is Saint Eble, just below Mont Coupet, in southcentral France. Here one finds quartz fragments that look manmade to some archeologists, but seem products of natural fracturing to others. These crude objects are what some American archeologists call "Carterfacts," after G. Carter, who has found similar rock fragments in the Americas and dates them much, much earlier than 12,000 B.P. In Europe, there is little argument about the 2.5-million-year-date for the stratum in which the controversial rocks are found. The debate is over whether they are natural or products of human manu facture. The French champion of human manufacture is E. Bonifay, an archeologist at the National Center for Scientific Research, in Marseilles. At stake here is the mainstream view that modern man is the last in a succession of three species.

Y'all should see this page about anomalous information that has been discovered around us. Wish I had the $ to check out a few of these books. Some of them really looked interesting.

Stranger In A New Land

Paleoartist John Gurche reconstructed this 1.75-million-year-old explorer from a nearly complete teenage H. erectus skull and associated mandible found in Dmanisi in the Republic of Georgia. The background figures derive from two partial crania recovered at the site.

They look more interesting than they really are. The titles and descriptions suggest that the contents are real verifiable anomalies and some are but, too many entries are merely references to a note someone found of some entirely ridiculous claim made by some moonbat up to as far back as around 150 years ago. Those things that are interesting real anomalies are often not thorough discussions of the subject leaving one to try to find obscure references elsewhere to learn more on the subject.

If the properly documented thorough discussions were put in abridged forms of these books at a price that reflected the actual amount of information then contained in them then they would be a must buy. The present form/price of these volumes left me somewhat disappointed.
