Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It's a very sweet film and brought a tear to my eye a time or two.
It's a keeper. I rented it tonight, but I'll buy it for the girls once it hits the sale shelf.

Oh, Man! I loved Barney Fife! I saw his picture on the TV when we were in the restaurant tonight, but I couldn't hear what it was saying about him, or see what was on the bottom of the screen. The first thing I thought, though, was that he'd died.

Yeah, our Cuisinart started doing that incontinence thing. I'd set it up at night, then put a towel on the counter in front of it, just in case. We got tired of fooling with it and bought the Zojirushi, and haven't had one bit of trouble with it! We kept the carafe from the other one, though.

NIGHT STALKER! Liked Darren McGavin, too. Man, all those folks who were popular in TV and the movies when I was young are pretty old, now.

I had my first martini tonight! Actually I had two! Some friends had a Mardi Gras party, and their son came home from college in Boston to be the bartender for the evening. It was a Blue Lagoon; vodka, blue curacao, and pineapple juice. Vey tasty.

Morning OT et all: Beautiful morning it tis; Gypsygirl is walked, we're sipping coffee and LSA is reading the paper. Lots of stuff coming up; can't believe it's supposed to be in the 70's next week, that's Ruthie and Sam type weather. We'll have to be thinking bout spreading some pre-emergent, an sharpening the lawnmower blade. hmmm. razor sharpness...yessss.
To: osagebowman
Heh...don't even know where to start with my lawn.
To: Overtaxed
Heh, well, doesn't sound like it'll make much of a difference then, just toss the shovel and commence there. :-)
hmm. buffalo grass...
