for Tammy
No need to be sorry, Jonny. If we all liked the same things and the same music it would be a boring world. Hicks is not my cup of tea, but my opinion of him is clearly in the minority.
Bucky is cute. I don't remember him from the auditions phase.
The rocker dude is OK. I don't remember the young woman who's wearing brown, and don't know if I can ever give Pickler a chance because I look at her and see Carrie.
Am typing this before I see the show tonight.
I don't think we will see another Akin nor another Fantasia. Akin was too wierd looking and Fantasia just can't sing. They were abberations IMHO.
To be honest, most of the folk that washed out were less than camera friendly. Even that massive chick with LOTS of junk in a BIG OLD trunk had a pleasant face.
I think the kid with Stewie's face will be going soon as well as the big mama, and I think the 16-yo is a front runner. The 6 footer has real potential if she just sings instead of vamping.
Next week I hopefully will be able to put some names with the players.
I am getting really good at scanning the posts as the show goes on -- but a few times I have skipped a post or 2 ahead and accidentally ruined it for myself :(
But in general it is more fun to watch this with my FRiends (even on time delay) than watching it alone.
As long as there isn't a "Fantasia II"
I see after tonight that I got the name wrong, it was the last one, Will Makar who is the crooner.
I only watch FOX News in the health club, on the overhead TV.
Ray Charles with a little Joe Cocker thrown in? That sounds about right. I said to a co-worker yesterday that he had a very soulful-country-bluesy voice. He's also very emotional when he sings. I like him. I'm also biased as he attended my alma mater.....War Eagle Taylor!
Sway???...NO WAY!!!!
Doesn't one of the 12 girls resemble Julia...the hairdresser from CT a few seasons back? IITRC, she had a large, well developed following among males on this thread..
TALL CHICKS ROCK!!!
Just found the AI home page..re my comment in #4808..Melissa MgGee is the one I think resembles Julia..can you dip into your vast file and do a side by side?
You were late to the party tonight, young lady :)
Yes I was, and then i had to leave early. :( There were a few last night I couldnt' understand. Brenna? ( The one ya'll call Elvis chick) Can she sing? And the guy with the long greasy hair...he makes Constantine look clean.
Watching Taylor last night, I wondered if he has mild cerebral palsy..his movements are similar to some students I have had with it. I just think some of his movements are medical related. I still like him though, although I don't think he will go as far as Ruben and Bo.
Do they have all of the stereotypical bases covered in this group? Let's see... we've got a "crooner", a geeky kid, a "big girl", a girl who's got a much better body than voice, a "rocker", and at least one country singer. If that doesn't cover all of the bases, it at least gets most of them.
Somewhere, Corey Clark is deeply saddened.
Mikayla was annoying, but in a cute, fun way. Brenna is just annoying.
I still don't think she can pull off convincing "pop" performances for 14 straight weeks. Her voice is more suited for jazz/blues.
Me too. I think he performs very well vocally and is by far the most unique contestant they have this year. Think of him as George Huff, with real vocal chops.
I know, it's really distracting. She could be likable in her own right, though. She seems to have a pleasant personality, and she can sing ... I'm just not sure about her.
LOL! You know, I don't even remember if she can sing--all I remember is that giant rump :)
Nah, Fantasia believed that the louder you screech, the better you sound.
I'm not a fan or Vonzelle (I or II), but at least they don't screech.
