I am feeling sorry for Toby (new dog that Oliver brought home labor day 05.. and was HIS dog). He is grieving terribly. He is mostly laying on spot where I brought O's body night one. He has his baby (teddy) that O never let him have/play with) as a pillow. Poor guy.
Because of toe pad injury from LAST monday he is limited in his outdoor excursions, but I take him out a couple times a day for easy time.
That picture is so poignant. Thank you for posting that. I have seen my dogs grieve for a lost member of the family. I think they do know what has happened and they experience a loss, too. Some dogs have grieved for their own loss and some have appeared to feel they must feel in the gap I'm feeling.
You know the stages of grief. You know not to fight it but to acknowledge it and take some time for yourself. I am especially praying for your mother and your relationship with her right now.
Awwwwwwww........What a sweet face!
Jemian is so right. Don't fight the grief, Dolly.
You and Toby can comfort one another, and it will be good for you both.
I have a feeling your dear Oliver had a different personality than Toby....strong....I can handle anything attitude...yet very....very....loving.
Toby, may be a little different in personality....yet very loveable....cuddly..in comparison to Oliver....?? a tad lazier.
With you loving care, he may turn out almost like his big brother....but...if he doesn't with your loving care...I know....for a fact......he will be a great canine FRIEND!
Wonderful photo of Toby! ((((Dolly))))
Thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.
Dolly, that is such a sweer, sad picture. Oliver brought him home, he may have known something, He knew you'd need someone to "play" with.
