I thought this would be an interesting thread, finding out the first car freepers ever had.
If you have a picture of it post it as well!
That is a sweet car. Brother had a 78 yellow convertible firebird with the racing stripes, he coould kick himself for dumping that car!
Oh my! had a b/f who had one of those and carried about 15 of our friends in it!
1969 Olds Cutlass. Oh how I loved that car....till the engine gave out at about 180,000 miles
California girls are so spoiled!
VW Beetle- circa 1964. Traded up to a Karman Gia.
Mine was a 1974 Ford Torino that had been owned by a guy who liked to mullet fish and would throw his unrinsed cast nets into the trunk. The rear fenders and trunk floor pan of that car were eaten alive with rust. I had to put sheets of plywood in there so small objects wouldn't fall out of the trunk onto the road.
The brakes on that car never worked right, despite new lines, master cylinders, calipers, etc. You had to pump the brakes (and pray) just to get enough pedal to stop. I can't begin to tell you the number of times I had to swerve off the road to avoid rear-ending someone. One bit of good it did, however - to this day I always leave lots of room between me and the car in front.
I had an '88 Celebrity that I bought with about 38K milres while I was in the Navy. I put a new (used) engine in it at about 180K miles, and kept it until the rest of the car fell apart at about 250,000 miles. Sold it to the junkyard for sixty bucks.

laney........1962 Chevy Impala SS.....with red tuck and roll upholstery....and I painted it black....it was awesome and had the loud cherry bomb muffler.....it was so KOOOOOL. That was in 1975
Cool. My friend had one in HS.
I remember distinctly riding in the back, holding for dear life onto those jump seat handles.
Kind of hard to do when you've had too many Rolling Rocks!
1975 Chevy Vega.. LOL .. Cheap and affordable when in college.
Only 15 ????? LOL, I think I had that many in my trunk once or twice.... you know, carload night at the drive-in ROFLMAO !!!
1989 Chevy "Chickcar" Cavalier Z24
Plenty of torque steer, factory tires made of cheese, completely pointless hoodscoops connected to nothing.
I put two elderly aunts back there (uncovered) once on a trip to a restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale.
THE CROWD WENT WILD! People honked and waved. < |:)~
1970 Chevy Monte Carlo.
My first car was a 1971 VW squareback (in 1982). But I too have owned a lime green VW Rabbit (1978). Mine had the official rabbit ears hood ornament.
1970 Pontiac Goat
