This is the first I've heard Carrie, but she's definitely got a great voice, no doubt. She does have a lovely voice. During American Idol earlier this year, I liked her, then went through a time when I didn't like her due to her stiff performing style. But I've warmed to her again and hope she does well.
Mostly I can't stand the snobs in the music industry who say someone who wins a talent contest doesn't have any credibility. Blech. The market speaks. Kelly Clarkson is closing in on 6 million in sales for her 2nd album, Breakaway. It is still #9 after 50 weeks on the charts. She currently has the #1 song on the radio airplay charts. She's had four #1 hits a row, and will have the #1 and #2 or #3 songs of the year in terms of radio airplay. (#2 and #3 are not settled yet between Kelly and Mariah Carey.)
I'd say that's some credibility. No reason why Carrie couldn't do similarly well with hard work and good management.

And Dolly is nicely dressed--she's all buttoned up, no wardrobe malfunction tonight. And here I was gearing up for big to-do. Actually, kidding aside, Dolly is a class act despite her flamboyant fashion style. Most women in country music were flamboyant like that when she came up.
