"... because of Hollywood ..." a voice kept saying... You have a good ear.
I, on the other hand, play bagpipes.
"Eh?"

That is going to be a nice fiction film that comes out next month.
It goes back in time and is a story about the upper-class (vampires) and their former servants the lower-classed werewolves.
There is a war between those two races in the fim amongst a love story.
Underworld was a conclusion and I think the next one will go back to the past.
Worth a look and is not a conventional story or film at all.

I'll draw this corollary, "The Chronicles of Narnia" is a story which brings you into it, I saw an item that says they might proceed with the series.

"I saw an item that says they might proceed with the series." It gives me hope. However watered down Lewis' message may have been, it is a better message than the other films that are out.
More, in the same path, would be a good thing.

There are a lot of things that I don't know about. And there are a lot of things that I would prefer to not know.

I'm going to have to read them.
Still haven't seen the movie, so no spoilers! ;)

Oh, then from what I read, miss Brokeback Mountain!
You in the teens with the temperatures tonight again?
I came home to 57 outside and 59 in the house without the heat.
I left a small heating dish in lightly in the back part of the house form my massive 4 pound guard pet though.
Can't have shorty getting too cold.
Been home 2 hours now, went from 57 to 55 outside. I had put the heat on when I got in till I got to 65.5 in the house and two hours later the home is back down to 61.6 which is getting too cold.
I am considering going to a local Green Burrito for dinner to get 4 large crunchy tacos for $2, but the little dog wants to come along to make sure he shares....

Brokeback MountainThat's one movie I don't plan on watching.
To: A CA Guy
"brokeback mountain"?
let me guess: "my beautiful laundrette"... with horses.
hopefully Hollywood will take enough of a financial loss to figure out that most of us simply don't WANT to see that kind of thing.

Um... It's about two cowboys who like each other as more than "just friends".

like I said: "my beautiful laundrette"... with horses

I had never heard of "my beautiful laundrette."

you missed nothing you wanted to know about.
I ended a relationship with the girl who conned me into seeing it.

However watered down Lewis' message may have been, it is a better message than the other films that are out. More, in the same path, would be a good thing. Although I didn't see the movie 100% in its entirety (due to a bit of intestinal upset), it didn't seem watered down very much. And some of it might have been more "accessible", if you will, to the current generation than the book would have been.
How to describe the situation that sent the children away from London, for example? Lewis took that for granted; after decades of ICBM nuclear threat it would be hard to understand.
(I found it interesting that the German I heard in the movie intro was not at all the German I have come to know in Bavaria and S(ch)wabia: two realms in Germany I, and my father-in-law before me, enjoy visiting.)
