Even just in the Flying Castle enclosure, there are several pools, as well as a number of hot tubs of various sizes.

And of course, there is the moat. It was actually designed for swimming, not for protecting the castle. The water circulates around the castle, so you can use it like an endless lap pool, or try swimming the other direction, to swim around the castle.

Pay no attention to the plesiosaur -- she's only interested in the fish.

What temperature is the water in all these bodies of water?

Doesn't she (the plesiosaur) have puppies?
Or something?
Are they also "friendly?"

The temperature in the moat is probably the coolest, being in the tropical to temperate range. Interior pools are set warmer.

We use ozone sterilization of the water, so we are not concerned with driving chlorine out of it. The hot tubs are, of course, hot.

I would not suggest playing with the young plesiosaur pups unless you are in very good condition, they are unused to humans, and although they are unlikely to try to eat you, they may not know how well you can swim. They tend to be rather competitive with each other, and their play is similar to that of seals.

Ah...I'll just use the moat as a place to swim...against the current, of course. Swimming is why I have such large...er...pecs. ;o]

Is it possible to swim in the moat without playing with the plesiosaur pups?

Of COURSE we have a pool! It's disguised as a hot tub, due to engineering peculiarities...

NnB, no SCUBA gear?

See?

Small on a large scale... okay, we clearly need to calibrate this puppy.

Is "Small on a large scale" smaller, equal to, or larger than "large on a small scale", or are there overlaps and if so are they contained with or do they exceed the small, small scale, large scale, or large elements, and if so, which?

Oh, sure! They stay to themselves mostly, anyway.

Think of an animal that combines the plan form of a porpoise, a seal, and a goose, and which has a personality to match.

While they have an effective defense capability, they generally do not use it except under extreme circumstances.

LOL!

Have you never been attacked by a Canada Goose?

Those birds are lunatics!

"NnB, no SCUBA gear?"

No, I have made no provision for SCUBA. There is no place where SCUBA could be used that snorkeling would not work as well.

For the truly determined investigator, however, a full EVA suit would serve the same purpose. See Dead Corpse for the appropriate buoyancy weights.

No, I mean any aquatic animal with goose personality is not an animal I'm interested in swimming with.

One of the advantages of being a piper (as well as long-distance underwater swimmer as a kid, though there was never a sport for that) is: you can hold your breath a really long time. (Didn't work with my parents though...)

"... any aquatic animal with goose personality is not an animal I'm interested in swimming with"

Well, it's only one third goose, so I guess that makes it about average for Free Republic -- 33% lunatic.
