We'll talk with Ashley Smith who became a heroine to millions of Americans when she was taken hostage by accused Fulton County Courthouse killer Brian Nichols. Smith tells the story of her life and her harrowing ordeal in her new book "Unlikely Angel: The Untold Story of the Atlanta Hostage Hero."

Now, some of those folks were and are pals of mine. :)
Hey cowboy, come on in and give us the 'inside scoop' on what we weren't told 7 months ago... (I can't see spending my money to enrich an admitted liar).
Darlin'
You accused her of screwing him if I remember correctly.
You still have a hate on for her as big as Montana.
Are you sure she didn't stand you up for the prom er sumtin'?
He's guilty as sin.
That would be very fine with me and yes, I am happy that more people were not hurt and that she wasn't hurt. It would have been more "noble" to just tell the truth at the time instead of leading the country on and creating this Sainthood and tying it all into a Christian conversion Book Deal.
I am sick of everyone turning every crisis into a Book and movie deal.
Except she came across as "elitist" , a side of her I hadn't seen before, and it was very unbecoming.
Her story didn't pass my smell test at the time. I guess I ended up giving her the benefit of the doubt. I'll pass on the book.
Well... :)
I don't think so. I saw his interview on Current Affair and Juron explained that he only lied because he was scared. More or oless the same thing Ashley says in her book, supposedly...(shut up Alan and bring on Ashley!)
I really want to know if Sean will ask Ashley the same question.
She wrote the book and she calls herself a hero in the title?
Talk about an ego. If I didn't know better I'd say she was high.
Reminds me of one of my favorite Willie Nelson songs, "Angel flying too close to the ground."
I had a great time at MY prom. Can you come up with a better answer?
I just don't favor liars and people that "use " others and their beliefs and con them.
I couldn't agree more (make way for Katrina movies of the week in time for Christmas!). I think it was the reporters pushing the God angle more than anyone else. She saw an opportunity to make lemonade from lemons, so to speak.
"Patriotism is the last refuge to which a scoundrel clings."
- Bob Dylan, 'Jokerman'
But the next line is much better:
"Steal a little and they throw you in jail - steal a lot and they make you king."
"She saw an opportunity to make lemonade from lemons, so to speak"
Or meth out of cough syrup:)
Hey you Dylan brainiard! cool lines.
The line about religion was in an earlier song I think. Now you got me thinking...I've been quoting that for so long. will go check it out.ha.
I was only commenting on the behavior on this thread,
there seems to be a lot really miserable people that are grousing and moaning.
I don't have a clue what happened with AS etc. I just got pinged and well, I DO know what I'm seeing here.
Right now, she could have given him crack in a leather garter belt in the third level of hell while reciting the Satanic bible backwards and she'd still come off nicer than some posters.
But hey, that's just my opinion. :)
I stated in March, that I didn't buy her story, and that I felt she was NOT being truthful about the whole story, and from what I have learned about the book so far is that I was correct in my gut feelings.
By the way, the #1 reason to use "meth" is its' sexual boosting properties.
Are you picking on Saint Ashley again? Jesus drank wine. Saint Ashley hands out chrystal meth. Don't you see the similarity? /sarcasm
I heard her say it on Sean's radio show this afternoon, too. It didn't sound "tongue in cheek" to me. It actually made absolutely no sense. Everything about Bush indicates he takes his job seriously and if he chooses a Supreme Court Justice out of a motivation to spite a certain group of conservatives, then he's not even 1% of the man he portrays himself to be in almost every other way. He knows the importance of this particular appointment to the SCOTUS and I believe he's chosen accordingly and it will become evident in the days ahead.
