My vet is out of town for several days. My dog just dropped a pup about an hour ago, The x ray my vet took last week said to expect 3. Any idea how long between pups? She's panting like crazy and the first is a girl!!
Mom is doing fine....the two are so cute....just took some pics, gonna see if i can upload and post
I had to google.
Cute pooch. Hope everyone gets here safely.
Hope it all works out.
GO GET A BURGER AND SHOW UP IN ABOUT AN HOUR. SHE KNOWS MORE ABOUT IT THAN YOU, ME AND/OR THE VACANT VET.
If you're like me, you'll wanna puke if you stick around to see her eat the placenta.
I'm so glad the first two are doing well. Don't be too quick to think things are over at #3. Sometimes vets are wrong.
Looks like you succinctly posted the same advice I was giving while I was still typing.
Bump for later.

Do NOT act agitated in any way. The mother dog will pick up on your nervousness and make her even more tense. Speak calmly to her, reassure her, tell her what a great mom she is. If a pup should arrive and not start breathing pretty quickly, be prepared to rub it quite vigorously with a dry washcloth or small towel to get it 'revved' up. :O) In a total of four litters (basenji), we only lost one pup.
No advice to offer, but good luck! We'd all love to see some pictures of the cuties when you get a chance.
Used to have a chow/golden retriever mix. When she had started nesting I made a box for her and told her to get in. She looked at me like I was nuts. Then my husband left for work. I kept hearing a little bird sound. The dog was in a panic and kept walking to a sleeping bag. There was a girl puppy in that sleeping bag. I let her birth there. My son (who was three at the time kept saying, "Ew! Boot!"--which was his word for Poop) The only thing I needed to help with was guiding the puppies to their mom's nipples to start nursing. Otherwise, they were in great condition.
What's the latest? How's the 3rd?

Lovely area of Milwaukee. I have relatives that live in WB.
Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the puppies. I bet they are just adorable. :)
Good wet! (or venetian, or venereal, or whatever . . . have you read John McCormack's Fields and Pastures New yet?)
You can expect one every half hour or so.
Thanks for the ping, and the info!
