That was an interesting post. They couldn't bring themselves to pretend full fledged racism, so they had to mitigate it with an "inside" reference to say, "Hey, I'm not really a racist." It was, on some level, endearingly naive.

"I calls 'em the way I sees 'em."Good policy.

BTW, The New Orleans political machine has obviously taken a page from President Fox's playbook...and improved upon it by using a trumped-up hurricane excuse to solve its own poverty problem-Mexico Style and exported its poverty problem to other states! That's right. The answer is to always send them over the border into Texas......

I failed to mention in my previous post my praise for your graphic.
I just love the graphics on this Site.

Didn't THE SIMPSONS get into a bad spat for badmouthing NEW ORLEANS?
Who'da thunk they were that prophetic?

I have in the past, but my day job is computer and network security in aerospace. The graphic work I do with SCB is mostly to keep my blood pressure down.

"I have in the past, but my day job is computer and network security in aerospace. The graphic work I do with SCB is mostly to keep my blood pressure down"I can appreciate that at this point in life. If you'd consider some work on an "if I fell like it" basis, please let me know.

Good observation! However, we should not lose focus on the fact that MOST of the folks who are suffering from this tragedy were victims BEFORE the storm hit. They had to put up with this stuff in their own neighborhoods.
We still need to reach out to help these people who are truly victims!! [Even if we do take the opportunity to use martial law to remove many of the vermin.]

Kinda destroyed that whole Liberal "they're only taking what they need" myth...
Whadda you mean? That guy was obviously VERY thirsty or a good planner knowing he'd be thirsty again soon! ;-)

Jeez, I can't believe I forgot about The Simpsons and all the flak they took for that episode.... what was it that Bart wrote on the chalkboard? Something about not impugning the city or somesuch.

Watching the news the past few days, I have never seen so many fat people in my life. And, Lousiana and Miss. are the two poorest states in the country...what's up with that.

Aside from the lack of goatee, he looks like Samuel L. Jackson in "Jackie Brown."

Just curious to see when your care of your own blood pressure is eclipsed by your concern for the very real tragedy that is happening to your fellow Americans right in front of your eyes.
At what point are you going to call this party of "frivolity" off?

Just curious to see when your care of your own blood pressure is eclipsed by your concern for the very real tragedy that is happening to your fellow Americans right in front of your eyes. As I have said previously, my parodies have two purposes: one is to provide brief respite from those who are deeply entrenched in the serious nature of the subject at hand; the other is to tick off those who don't think the subject is being handled seriously enough.
As you clearly fall into the latter category, I sincerely hope that this parody ticks you off enough to compel you to do something about this admittedly tragic situation.
Something other than what you're doing now.

Why it's downright shameful that Mother Nature was able to so easily flush out our political feces for the whole world to see, when we have spent so much money, effort and entitlements to hide our social failures to our citizens.

Mogudishu now, but give it some time. It will return to being "New Orleans" more quickly than most think. But for now, Modudishu, or possibly Faluja, seems appropriate.
