I've seen the Flash Gordon series. This is the first time I've seen his Buck Rogers. Funny....the surface of Saturn looks like the desert Southwest.
*shudder* I want to know what Bill Gates does with all the brainpower he sucks out of hapless powerpoint endusers. I'm always 10 IQ points dumber after about an hour of powerpointing and it takes forever to recover.
But on the bright side, some DOD contracts could have you traveling to certain southwestern installations where you can get a good chile-fix. ;)
LOL - glad to know it wasn't just me. Nope to the Land of Enchantment, Yup to the Land of Ahhhs. It's a 6 months timeline compressed to 60 days. Let the good times roll :-)
Monument Valley shown up yet?
Remember the 'Captain Gallant of the French Foreign Legion'? That was a pretty good TV show.
I missed that one.
Uh oh...had to steal a bad guy's ship to get back to Earth and got whacked by their own guys.
Time for a walk...then I'll decide about the paint situation.
It's nice out, have a good walk. I'm off to get gas in Ol' Red.

Mornin'! ~sip~
Got both of my sisters here today. We're doing FlyLady projects every other weekend to make sure the house is ready for sale in December.
Today is one of the big closets that my dad used to store his home office stuff. Scary!!
I've also got to mow the lawn and pretty up the yard now that our fence is back up. :-D
I was out until after 2:00am this morning, so I need more coffee to get any of the above accomplished. *laughing*
Good thing I skipped that 3rd tequila shot or no amount of coffee in the world would be of any help.
Back before we got old and jaded and found out what it *really means*, we thought this was a "roll in the hay"...
...and it made us happy.

Heh. That's one of the reasons we decided to remodel where we are. SirKit couldn't face packing up all this frap to move! Of course we still have to pack it up because we'll have to empty every room to retro-fit them for the radiant under-the-floor heating system. But this experience will certainly give me many opportunities to 'Bless' someone else with my stuff. ;o)
But there's nothing like orchard-picked apples for making pies and crisps. Just more fun to make when you've picked the apples yourself!
We had some of the old Flash Gordon episodes on VHS at one point. What cracked us up most about them (besides the...umm...questionable acting) was the fact that many of the costumes seemed to be recycled from other movies or shows. The good guys (while on a planet) would wear what looked like Robin Hood costumes and the bad guys wore Roman soldier uniforms. And so on and so forth.
Under-the-floor heating? You mean never again waking up to a freezing cold bathroom floor? I really like that idea.
Oh yeah! I'm really looking forward to having warm floors! Apparently it's the most efficient type of heating because it gets the heat to the part of your body that is always the coolest. You're warmer up near your head, so you don't need it warm in the upper reaches of the room. Also, if your feet are warm, you feel warmer all over.;o)
hehehehe....
Two closets and 6 garbage bags later....
The big problem is that we discovered a HUGE box of old Encyclopedia Brittanica that my dad must have purchased when my youngest sister was in high school.
The books themselves are in mint condition, but of course this collection is from 1991 - so its dated. And nowadays, nobody needs one since the internet is so much easier.
It's VERY heavy and I'm not sure how to get rid of it. :-/
Could call around to used bookstores...one of 'em might well take it. Or maybe check with homeschooling groups?
Science and politics have changed a lot, but it'd still be useful for someone who didn't have internet access...Surely such a person exists... ;-) Historical facts are the same, and so are geographical type things.
Oh, ours were weirder... Weekly World News weird.
Put an entry on craigslist saying you'll give them away to anyone who comes and picks them up.
That's not a bad idea. They do have a Miami board.
Yeah, I was thinking to post it on FreeCycle.
