Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

RPGs that don't take themselves too seriously can be a lot of fun for an evening's entertainment!

We're supposed to get together every couple weeks. Now that we've got the characters built we can have fun. Last night we stopped just after blowing up a tentacled jelly-monster that squirts acid. I have a bad feeling about things.

LOL!
Rose and I used to play "Illuminati: New World Order" with another couple every Saturday night... it was a very silly and fun trading card game. I loved making up decks based on the most outlandish conspiracy theories I could think of.

"Illuminati: New World Order" Paul and David had those cards for a while. My favorite was "Harmonica Virgins". ;o)

There's a card in the set called "Every Year is Worse"... I keep wanting to scan and post an image of it, whenever a thread pops up talking about how something (crime, drugs, porn, whatever) is worse today than at any previous time in history...

Heh, I found an old webpage I had put together at one time, describing one of my favorite INWO decks. Check it out
here. (Sorry about the color scheme!)
The one time I played that deck I built Elvis' regular and global power up to 23, from a start of 1 (IIRC). He was unstoppable!

Good Morning - Daylight in the Swamp; Roll Out or Roll Up!
LF: glad to know others know of what I speak. Ever had a bowl of posole and a plate of flat enchiladas with an egg? It makes a meal to remember. Northern NM cuisine..hmmm.
OT: Gypsygirl has been walked and it's time for more coffee. Going to the Race today? Fox had a reporterrete at the race track, seems the folks were lined up, ready to come in at 6 AM.

Ever had a bowl of posole and a plate of flat enchiladas with an egg? It makes a meal to remember. Love eggs and enchiladas! It gives pizza a run for the money for the premium breakfast food. I routinely take leftover enchiladas in to work for breakfast. MmmmMmmmMmmm
Speaking of Northern NM cuisine, I ordered a grilled cheese at a greasy-spoon joint in Cimarron (worked summers there for several years) and the little gal at the counter asked, "Do you want red or green with that?" I pulled a *really* northern NM on her and said, "Ranch." They put ranch dressing on lots of stuff - especially pizza. It isn't half bad. Of course, I can't think of many entrees that would be ruined by ranch dressing.

LF: can't say as I have partook in 'ranch' on my grilled cheese. Depending on my mood I'd probably opt for red or green. Dang, got to get back there. BTW, we got a DOD contract, those Army types sure like those powers points presentations. :-)
Morning Hair, Sip, Sip. Need to follow OT's example today and cut the grass. After another sip or two though.

Nope not going....no fun going by yourself.
Can't decide whether I want to put a coat of paint on the fence today or not...
Having coffee now. Miss Cat seems satisfied with her breakfast and is curled up in the laptop case. I've got the old Buck Rodgers serial (with Buster Crabbe.)

Haven't or don't recall seeing that series. I recall the Buster Crabbe 'Flash Gordon' ones. I do remember those and the 'Commado Cody' serials as being one my favorites.
