Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I had nachos for dinner. Good, wholesome food, that. :-)
If you include the guacamole and the salsa... there's veggies there.

Yup. And the cheese and sour cream has the dairy.
Throw some extra beef on that bad boy and you've got a mini food pyramid.

Hmmm...would the chips themselves be considered "breads and cereals" or "fruits and vegetables" since they're made from corn???

Evening all...new puter...HP Pavilion a1110n.
I wanna put in a second CD-Rom drive. Or maybe salvage the CD burner from the old one. This one has one do-everything DVD+/-RW CD-RW and a bay for something else.

That's the great thing about nachos... you got pretty much the basic four food-colors covered. :-)
You got your white group, your brown group, your green group and your red group. Done! :-)

Congrats on the new PC, XGI!
I'll let the more knowledgeable computer minds of the Hobbit Hole offer suggestions as to what new gadgets can go in the extra spot. :-D
Just turned midnight here, so I'm gonna hit the hay.
Nighty night everyone!

I sent an email today to the CSM of one of our "adopted" units, the Bayou Bandits from Louisiana, offering our prayers. They're headed back home from Iraq to face devastation back home. I offered them our prayers, and donations to their own relief funds for their own people, if they set one up. Here's his reply:
--------
Rick,
Thanks for keeping us in your prayers me and my men stand ready to do whatever it takes to get our great city of New Orleans functoning again. The fight here has been long and with high costs but now we have another mission and that is to rebuild. The Hobbit hole folks are our brothers and we will never forget all the great things that you do for my soldiers. Each day a knife would arrive and the telling signs were the large smiles on there faces and I knew that they had just recieved a super knife from the Hobbit hole. There have been some dark days here in Baghdad but the Hobbit hole always seem to bring a ray light and happiness to the Bandits. The Bandits proudly carry there knives with such honor from the streets of Baghdad to Sadr city and to all points in between. I will advise on were to send donations too once we are back on the ground but again thanks for all that you do.

Morning OT - We're back from Gypsygirl's walk, beautiful day here. Coffee, hmmm. wonderful stuff.
SuziQ - got an email from a bow making buddy in MI. He's bout a 100 miles inland. Things are rough there and he drove to central MI to be with his relatives, they have some power and he was able to email me. He just got out of a body cast and halo from a broken back and neck. Very relieved to hear his old jeep and him were up to the trip.
The office is sending supplies to our office in Baton Rouge. Lots of folks have taken in relatives from further south. Our company is providing personnel to aid the assessment and rebuilding efforts, they asked for volunteers and two thirds of us volunteered. They only sent five and I wasn't one of them, (this time).
