Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Lafayette Channel 10 KLFY-TV has just reported hotel overbookings at the Best Value Inn. Due to damage to the chain's main computer system in Florida, the Best Value -- which only has 300 rooms -- was allowed to accept 10,000 reservations. The parking lot is full of angry guests who have confirmed reservations and no rooms. KLFY reports that it is STILL possible to book a room at the Best Value via priceline.com and other sites because the glitch hasn't been fixed yet. What a catastrophe!!

On Golden PondAhhh, ok.
Never seen it.

Just saw a special the other day about the above-gound cemeteries in New Orleans.
That's going to be gross.
And possibly confusing...which of the floating remains drowned in the storm and which died of (insert cause) last week...
See y'all in the morning. Prayers for our fellow-citizens.

Aren't they supposed to delay broadcast by five seconds or something for that reason?
Regardless, the dude was pretty justified. I don't use language like that but the situation darn near calls for it.

Just read on the hurricane thread that I-10 is gridlocked. Not the place to be in a hurricane!
To: ExGeeEye
which of the floating remains drowned in the storm and which died of (insert cause) last week...That won't be hard. The new ones won't have been embalmed yet.
I had been wondering about the cemeteries earlier this evening.
