I was out with friends last night. Everyone at the table was late 30's, early 40's. I was the oldest at 43.
We ordered drinks and the waitress asked for my ID. She was very embarassed when she saw my 1962 birthday.
But I have been a good mood since.
At what age were you last asked for ID when purchasing liquor?

That is nothing, I got carded at a Red Sox game at Fenway, and I am in my 50's.

I still get carded now and then at 36. It's kinda nice. :)
I've never been carded. I was buying booze in a bar at 18 back in 1988.

A few weeks ago at Fenway Park ... I'm 58. (And anyone who would mistake me for 30 belongs in a mental institution.)

I grew a goatee a few years ago when I got out of corporate sales and started my own business.
This is the first time I have been carded since having the facial hair.
On my 30th birthday. I profusely thanked and then tried to hug the clerk, who looked very embarrassed :lol: .

You had a near blind waitress and you have taken it to mean that you look 21. Poor old soul lost her glasses and it made your day. LOL!
I was also in my 40's. Guy insisted on ID and then told me I looked like I was straight out of high school.
Perhaps I had a pimple, I can't remember.
I've got bad news for you sort of. Many establishments don't want the fines and legal problems that come from serving minors. In order to remove all doubt many establishment instruct their employees to card anyone who doesn't appear to be over a certain age. For example, the workers at my wifes store are instructed to card anyone who looks younger than 40. This helps to insure that they get the underage drinkers. It's very possible that the server at the place you went to has instructions to card anyone who looks less than 60...sorry.
I got carded at 46, gray hair and all. I'm still not sure why I was carded.
These "card everyone" policies are the same as zero tolerance in the schools. It says employees are too stupid or dishonest to tell when someone is way over 21. Ridiculous!

Well, I was significantly older, but it was at a Pistons play-off game and the concessionairres had been instructed to check EVERYONE. Now, when my wife was in her 30s, she was still often getting "carded", which always put her in a great mood--which had great benefits at home.
I got carded last week at 63... was going 88... guy acted like I just got out of highschool. (s)
Well, I'm a freaking grandfather, and this getting carded no matter what is getting way out of hand.
On my 21st birthday night, I went to the grocery store next to my unversity to buy beer.
They didn't card me!
