Traffic FYI
New Jersey will launch a 30 day speeding ticket frenzy. The state estimates that 9 million dollars will be generated in speeding tickets. 1 million will go to pay state troopers over time. There will be 50 state troopers on duty at all times patrolling the 9 main intersections and highways. They are the following:
I-295 north and south
1-95 (Jersey Turnpike) north and south
1-80 east and west
I-287 north and south
I-78 east and west
I-195 east and west
1-280 east and west
Rt. 130 north and south
Garden State Parkway north and south
Warning for everyone: Now 5 mph above the limit can justify a ticket and every state trooper is supposed to pull a car over and write a ticket every 10 minutes. They have issued 30 brand new unmarked Crown Victoria cruisers and they are bringing in all their part timers on full time. If you work in New Jersey, New York, or CT, you must take one of there interstates, routes, or parkways. It's up to you how fast you are doing when they do.
Good for you!! maybe you will get lucky!
Some people just don't want to be helped.
If it's true - you've been warned.
If it's untrue - you drove a little slower for a month.
Probably won't kill you.
Last Saturday.
I meant with the monster getting a ticket or wrecking or...
I know what you meant - I was changing the subject back to our usual.
Clifton at the GSP on ramp, four cruisers and three motorcycle cops had six cars pulled over in one shot last week.
So this is the real deal.
(Info from my father.)
Hey.... speaking of the Monster...
Perhaps we can get JRB Dude to flirt with her while you go after Mr. Monster?
he he he
I call shenanigans. As far as I know, the NJ State Police doesn't have part-timers.
That said, here's your source.
Nice, I will be running through NJ Saturday. I may have to keep it under 80.
I also travel 80 every day, but I am in awe of 280. What are you driving?
Pontiac Grand Prix.
It sure is. After 9 years here, I'm still mystified by it all. There's some sort of diabolical plot in the works, that keeps us driving in circles, stopping at Wawas every now and then. It's a form of mass control. ;-)
Absolutely. Rarely does anyone drive the speed limit. The police would have to pull over every single vehicle if they're going to ticket just 5 mph over the speed limit.
I've never seen a WaWa. Honest!
Validation....
From my older brother in NJ....
"On the way home we took Rt. 80 to Rt. 15. Saw 4 cars stopped by cops! Usually we might have seen one. So I'm a believer!"
1-80 east and west
1-80 east and west . . . is like Cannonball Run most of the time. The thought of grinding through all that North Jersey nothingness at 67 mph (on the cruise control) is truly depressing.
