No, but we did the night before - really weird - super loud thunder for an hour to an hour and a half with no rain -- we've been having thunder at night w/no rain but this was louder and really constant. Finally, the skies opened up and we got about 1.5 inches where I am. We needed it. The crops look terrible. Of course, my weeds don't seem to mind the lack of rain at all.

I'm doing okay. Very, very busy. I had 3 meetings yesterday. Last Monday I was on the road all day.
I've reduced my pain meds so I get really, really tired easily. But I'm down from 1200 ml. a year ago to 300 ml. today. It feels good to have no brain fog. ( or at least, less)
Griping the steering wheel bothers me some. I'm wearing a wrist restraint to drive. I have a Dr appt with the Ortho surgeon on the 5th. I'm expecting he'll recommend Carpel Tunnel surgery. Don't know when I'll fit it in.
I will have to coordinate between the hair dresser & the surgeon. I will get my hair done on the days I have to be out and about & hire somebody to drive for me for the first 10 days after the surgery.
I spent about 5 hrs outside today working on edging and remulching the borders. It's going to look really great when I'm done.
It's been about 3 years since I really did a thorough job of it, so it was really needing it.

The Gloved One arrived Wednesday night, flying from Europe on a private plane with Sheik Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the 30-year-old son of Bahrain's King Hamad. The prince wouldn't say where Jackson was staying in the 33-island archipelago, which features various heavily guarded royal retreats.
"We will do our best to maintain the privacy he has," said the prince, a friend of Jermaine Jackson.
"During Michael's trial, Sheik Abdullah called many, many times to offer his support," a source told The News' Michelle Caruso.
The source, who said that Michael had brought his three children, is still "recovering and trying to put some weight back on his bones."

No such plans for us, but J's going in Oct. I'll let her provide the details. We're thinking of Germany/Austria next year. Mr. M's late uncle, a Chetnik soldier, was captured and held in a German prison camp at Mauthausen, Austria, and we'd like to visit it in his memory.
Have you ever read Corrie Ten Boom's, "The Hiding Place?" I just re-read it. Quite humbling and really a dear read. A friend of mine was her nurse in her latter years. Really speaks to the transforming power of God and the horrors of the camps.
Yes, I read the book and heard her speak. She had close ties to my undergrad school. She was fascinating.
I sometimes wonder if I would have had that courage. Not to hide Jews - I would have done that. But, the courage to survive the camps with a heart towards all I came in contact with. I'm not sure I have that kind of faith. And of course, the wonder of Corrie was hearing her tell that she didn't have it always, either. She learned, as we all do, through situations trusting God. An amazing woman.
I'd like to have known her father - he must have been some guy. The legacy he left his children is amazing.
