Ahhh...sounds wonderful!! I wish I could see something like that! I'd like to just tag along and observe, if they'd let me!
Mornin' to ya, Corin.
Mmm... "high church".... I get to be at the family church this weekend. That's gonna be nice. It's definitely "higher church" than where I go now, and now's not too casual.
Man, I am looking forward to a really good sermon... pastor at my church does a good job but he's not into delivering... dunno... theologically deep sort of messages.
mmmmmmm....high....
How the @W#$%@$^ can we be up to "E" and it's only July 11?
Don't ask me.
I'm hoping Sam Cree is right and we'll be skipped again this year.
Did someone call to evacuate the thread?
Not me!
Dude, you've got to move somewhere they don't name the storms...
Don't I wish!
Well, I figure the odds are against any one place experiencing a direct hit, especially from a major storm....here in So Dade Co we've already had one direct hit in recent memory by a cat 5, so I'm hoping lightning won't strike twice. At least not anytime soon.
I have to admit to being a little upset by this month early activity, though. When Dennis went by in the Gulf a couple days ago we experienced bands with that "rolling thunder" noise that I hadn't heard since right before Andrew hit the beach. It sounds like the grand finale at the Disney Fireworks show, but at a distance.
Hoping for the best, though, and keeping fingers crossed.
Someday, Ruthy, someday... start thinking about where now...
You could probably do New Mexico, I imagine the heat's not too far off from what you're used to and there's less humidity.
Them's some BIG BIRDS!
Excellent!
Prayers for Emily to slide on by! I'm assuming all my family is OK. They are in MS, well to the west of Dennis, and would have only gotten some thunderboomers. I'm sure they're glad about that.
I know the sound you speak of. It unnerves me as well.
Not to mention, last year's activity caused less damage to my neighborhood than Dennis did.
I actually got an offer to transfer to the Colorado office yesterday. :-D
Yes, the south side of my street was without electricity until yesterday afternoon. Luckily my side was unaffected.
