The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

     | Upon the hearth the fire is red,Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
 Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
 |
      |
      | Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
 |
      |
Home is behind, the world ahead,And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
Well wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!
 |

I always wondered about orcs.I think that's something that JRRT himself hadn't quite resolved.

    *grin*

What is it about kids that requires them to give you at least one heart attack a day?

I got the kids back into bed and when I went to double-check on them, Becky was carrying Alyson piggyback.

Just then, before I could tell Becky to put her down, Alyson swung back and fell off. She landed on this plastic rolling bin and then hit the tile floor.

I near about died on the spot!

Becky started to cry more than Aly when she saw how mad I was. Thankfully, they're both no worse for wear. Aly will just have another bruise to add to her growing collection. *rolls eyes*

But it's quiet now. Or should I say, for now.

Well...I wonder if the fact that I had bags of frozen veggie CRAMMED around that little fan at the bottom caused this problem? Still doesn't explain the water...

Good thing that kids are made out of that bouncy stuff. :-)

To: 2Jedismom
    I take it that it's not a self-defrosting model.

I know what you mean...whenever something like that happens with one of the jedis, I take a shaky breath to calm my heart and think "Bumbles Bounce!"

I dunno if that would have done it, sis.

It may just be old and tempermental. ;-)

No it is a self defrost...it's called Amana 16 Free O' Frost.

I'm wondering if the defrost drain is stopped up? Or if it's not defrosting? Maybe the defrost timer is broke? There is only a scant amount of water in the actual tray...but there was sheets of ice in the bottom of the freezer where the bags of veggies were.

    Bouncy stuff indeed.
I guess you can't help but think about how ~your~ body would feel hitting the ground like that, but kids are much more rubbery.
*laughing*
I've managed to keep Becky from spotting the Annie tape tonight. She's watching Little Bear with Aly now.

You gonna do all the work for us, Ruthy?

Yeah, in CO most of the tourist spots are winter oriented, so you get some really great summer deals.
