Katie Holmes is not sporting a ring yet, but she is engaged to Tom Cruise.
Just one month after the two started canoodling to publicly express their love, Holmes has packed her bags and moved in with the star and pals have said she has accepted his marriage proposal.
We also hear that Holmes, a former Christian, is converting to Scientology. A pal says, 'She had her initial meeting at the Scientology center in LA, and she is coverting.'
Holmes has also switched agents at Creative Artists Agency--from her longtime rep to Cruise's sister/rep Lee Anne DeVette.
Meanwhile, after Tom's over the top burst of emotion PDA on Oprah last week, there's a new hobby in LA among agents and others, called 'Doing the Cruise.'
According to defamer.com, people al parties get riled up and start jumping up and down on sofas and wrestling.

When Katie Holmes was a teen she said her dream was to marry Cruise.
What creeps me out about the guy is I think that what we saw from him on Oprah is as deep as he gets. I'd imagine that if he weren't famous, having Tom over to a party would be a sure-fire conversation killer.

Just for posterity, I must mention Mr. Cruise's track record...I guess Katie thinks he'll change just because of her? Nope. He's asking HER to change her whole life for him, but I'm guessing he hasn't analyzed any of his numerous relationships and why they haven't worked. She should do a little demanding as well. Like--get some psychotherapy and figure out why you fail in all your relationships. I know...THE CULT won't let him get psychotherapy.

That was the worst movie ever made, if you take into consideration the ratio of hype to entertainment value.

My understanding is that Cruise is 1/4 or 1/2 Jewish. Can Jews be Scientologists? If not, then he's also abandoned that part of his heritage for this cult.

May 31, 2005 — You could bring in the world's greatest pinchers to do their business on me and I'd still think I was dreaming. Did I hear this right … that Tom Cruise says he's "madly in love" with Katie Holmes and eager to walk her down the aisle?
I say two things: OUCH! (from the pinching) and PULEEAASE! (from the sheer ridiculousness of the whole thing).

So what then?
There is, of course, the fact that she's a self-proclaimed virgin and Tom Cruise has been rumored to be less than interested in sex. Mimi Rogers, his first wife, once told Playboy that Cruise considered being a monk and felt that having sex would hinder his desire for purity. If both these things are true, it certainly would make Holmes the perfect platonic partner.
Using my female intuition (I only take it out for special occasions!) I have to believe something more is asunder. I predict there's going to be some very damaging information about Mr. Cruise that will be exposed in the very near future. Perhaps this secret, in tandem with the real reason Penelope Cruz gave him the big shove-off, has caused the PR machine to go into overdrive and force Cruise to become a romantic goofball.
We shall find out soon enough.
Either Cruise and Holmes will endure, and their relationship will become another one of those crazy Hollywood love stories, or the number two will soon hit the fan and all will be revealed.
My guess … you might want to put on a hat!
I just hope this young lady knows he has lost at love at least twice (not counting his romances such as Penelope Cruz). I don't normally make this assumption based on the number of marriages, but I kinda think this guy is rather hard to live with in some way or another.
But anyway, it's their lives. And if they are divorced in a month or two, well, they'll just join a long list of other celebs.
Katie's ex complained that she was quite frigid at times., this may be a match made in heaven!
I think I see your point. The fact that that line just made me cringe with embarassment really does demonstrate the awesome power of this film.
To quote Adam Sandler:

And Katie was just coming off a broken engagement! This has warning signs all over the place...
