Good Morning Class. Welcome to School! Today we get a nice Wednesday Word with some Friday Word potential.

Here is my example with WFTD.

If the republicans in the senate don't grow a backbone and some testicles, they may be singing a threnody to lament the passing of their status as majority party.

The Deal's No Victory

I've opened a new classroom, but Miss Rika has the gradebook. So if you're looking for a grade you'll have to ping her. Miss Slippy is pretty generous with the plusses if you compliment her shapely legs, so you might try submitting your homework to her instead. My secret for getting extra plusses on my A+ from xs will remain a secret between me and her, so you're on your own if you want her to review your work.

I'll be in a training class all day and away from my computer. Y'all have fun in my absence.

The deal was a winner for Kennedy
For Boxer and Reid--pure serenity
Now the lefties can sleep
With the RINOs mere sheep
R.I.P. Reagan's party-- it's your threnody

Morning! A quick one, and I've got to go-I'm taking my sister-in-law to work with me today.

Mc Lame and the other RINOs
Had better say their prayers-
As soon as their "agreement" wears thin
There will be an end to all their airs

The senate fighting will escalate
And the voters will recall
At 2006 election time
Who it was that dropped the ball

Back later...

If the ACLU (all of them) were blown up tomorrow, I would be hard pressed to sing a threnody in their memory. (God forgive me for my wicked thoughts.)

My threnody

There once were two ladies from Maine
I'' tell you they're both royal pains
Armed with nothing but cell phones
They made five more Snowe clones
And now they march with their captain McCain.

McCain would probably be thrilled to sing threnodies on Hardball after driving the Republicans off the cliff.

Just as a threnody was being written for the Senate democrats, along comes McCain and pulls a wuss!

If you've ever heard Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki's Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima you know that music can sound like what radiation burns must feel like. (An early critic of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto wrote that finally someone had written music that stinks in the ear, but that critic was patently insane. As opposed to me and my radiation burns). Although to be fair to Mr. Penderecki (pronounced I believe TRISCHtoff penderETSskee, but my Polish isn't all it should be) I understand he named the piece after he composed it, like Debussy did with his piano preludes.

Let the threnodies rise,
sing the dirges soft and sad,
bring the mourners to keen up to heaven.
Let the tolling begin,
long, slow, sonorous,
here the strands of Dies Irae proclaim,
the day of wrath approaches.
With each choice that says bad is good,
good is bad,
sterility is abundance,
death is choice,
God is nil,
man is all,
spirit is myth
and all is dust,
We man the death watch
that says farewell to the bright and wonderous promise
that once was western civilization,
and see it take its place
next to Sumeria,
and Assyria,
the Parthians,
the Anasazi,
and join the dead cities,
Mycenae,
Knossos,
Ur,
Babylon.
and all the others
in being in the past.
The future it looks, belongs to others.

No kidding, eh?

A threemelody is a song for the dead.

(What do call a septumelody, if we need to lament the passing of 7 repubbie traitors?)

With the new REVENGE OF THE SITH, we sing a threnody not only to the late, lamented wife of Darth Vader, but the whole STAR WARS series.
