Right now on MSNBC they have an anti war activist and liberal prof claiming that no vets were spat on. In addition vets don't hate Fonda, they all love ler. Welcome to biased coverage.
Hard to prove wrong all these years later. It just sits in the memory of guys that did what they were suposed to do.
I was a youngster during Vietnam. I'm sure it must've been hard to take all the criticism the left was throwing at the troops. It must've hurt. I hope my thank you heals the hurt somewhat.....
That would have been my response also if it had happened to me. Unfortunately our great Vietnam vets didn't get the welcome home they deserved as we did returning from Gulf War I. Thanks for your service. Semper Fi.
I was about to do the same that day, but an alert Atlanta cop, fearing an immediate death to said dirt bag, stepped in, slammed him against the wall, looked at me and said, "go ahead sarge, I'll take care of it, I saw what he did." As I walked away, I saw the cop being a little unkind with his "patting down" of said dirt bag against the wall. I felt the cop could get away with more than I could and I had to catch a plane to Germany. But, again that was way back then. Cops now days would get sued.
Now you're scaring me...
Somebody should start a website where Vietnam Vets can go and relay their experiences with this and we can forward it to MSNBC and Ms. Fonda.
Roger that Ranger.
Wow Tonk, thanks for compiling all of that info!
Not everything has to be challenged as if it's "Hardball."
People complain all the time about Imus not challenging a guest, yet they seem to figure things out for themselves. It's why most of us are here on FR - getting another take on things.
I don't need to be told how to think by Rush or Sean or O'Reilly or anyone else.
The @sshole on MSNBC claimed that no soldiers came home through civilian airports, only military air bases.
Said there was no documentation of anything like spitting ever happened.
And even more breaking news from MSNBC:
The new Pope is a Lutheran, and bears have been seen leaving the woods to use the porta-potty.
So much for full disclosure by the MSM.
I rarely just watch TV anymore. It's usually on for background noise. If something catches my attention, I perk up. Ron Reagan has obviously had some coaching since he started right after RR's death. He was f'n goofy. Now he's just plain goofy.
"Some stinking hippie made the mistake of spitting at my old man in LAX the same year when he returned from his 2nd tour. He (airborne Ranger) 'mopped the floor' with the piece of dirt while security guards counted ceiling tiles."
Good for your old man! I'm proud of him.
Sorry to hear that. Hope you decked someone?
And I bet you the anchors weren't nearly as rough on him as they would be on a Rush Limbaugh or George Bush.
As Mark Twain once observed there is very often no special reward for doing the right thing. In fact the fact that there is no reward is usually a reliable way to know what the right course of action is.
So does this Auburn gal.
"The @sshole on MSNBC claimed that no soldiers came home through civilian airports, only military air bases.
Said there was no documentation of anything like spitting ever happened."
God, the commies are good at disinfo!
Also, I smell a rat. MSNBC might want to check this professor's service and academic record. He wouldn't have said that if he were a real Nam Vet. It is just not accurate.
Many of the civilian charter flights used military airports. We then went as a group to civilian airports to get flights closer to home. We were easy to spot coming off the base shuttle bus. I was issued a new Class A uniform. We were all in uniform. Hard to miss.
I wonder how much the left paid this 'professor' to spread the disinfo?
