No offense to certain "differently abled" folks, but anyone relying on CC for AI probably shouldn't be voting in the first place...

I can't tell you how nice it is not to have to explain the 2000 election to the uninformed during a casual, nonserious conversation. Didn't the Supreme Court give Bush the election?
Gore got more votes, doesn't he deserve the election?
Isn't this nothing more than a police state? Wouldn't we be better off under that nice man Saddam and his freedom fighters.

Hey! Where is that cowboy sketch?? I love it!Thanks :) I took it down to work on it a little more. I didn't like the way it turned out.

And it is such a different take here on the competition from most other sites (with conservative adults discussing AI, for one thing, rather than a bunch of illiterate 13-year-olds). Thank you!Thank you! I appreciate that :)

Ok, thanks....I really liked it.

You know, sometimes I keep the CC on because of noise in the house (I have 3 boys). I was glad for it the night Scott sang "Dance With My Father" because wouldn't have known what the song was if I wasn't reading the lyrics!

The argument is that those who might be watching in loud places (such as bars) might use the CC to know which numbers are which. You'd have to be dumb as a brick to not figure out that it was a mistake, but then again, they had a revote for a similar situation when the numbers appeared on the screen outside of the CC.
In any event, hopefully someone at Fox has fixed the problem for the rest of the series.

It is possible that it is a hoax, and something not easily double checked, since most recordings won't pick up the CC track. But I doubt it. It is, as someone else pointed out, likely that whomever was doing the CC pre-typed the Idols number and pasted it while doing the captioning (during a live program) and simply forgot to correct the numbers. Or rather, programmed it on a function key which if I recall correctly is how they save many names/facts for CC pasting.

I have never posted to this thread, and only started watching AI about 4 weeks ago, but I think it sucks that Anthony got the boot last night. It should have been Vonzel. I don't get where everyone says she has vocal talent....just sounds like screaming to me. And all that bawling.....Paula set that up, asking her how she was doing....from the tone of the question you knew that Paula knew she had had a bad day....dirty pool to my way of thinking. I liked Anthony from the first time I saw him.

I agre with you on Anthony. But if you read the responses on this thread, you'll see intelligent FReepers voting for their favorites (many, many times in some cases), whom they made up their minds to vote for even before the first note was sung on Tuesday. Then you've got the predjudices that fall onto every performance, regardless of if it's true or not... some people never gave Constantine any credit, even on those (few) occassions he did well... Vonzelle gets a bad rap for "screeching" even on songs where she's 100% under control.
I try my hardest to judge each night on its own merits, but it gets a little discouraging when I see posts like "getting ready to dial 100+ times for Carrie" before the night even begins.

London, like Bo until last night, never had her audition shown for America to evaluate.

TonyWpi has Diana's new CD. He likes it. I just ordered it last night. Does she write any songs on her CD? I couldn't believe that Kelly Clarkson wrote such a great song like Because of You, and when she was a teenager. She co-wrote like half the songs on her second album. She's like Debbie Gibson-- good singer and songwriter (though Kelly sings a lot better).

If Carrie and Anthony are an item, AI should try to get them hitched and then use the wedding as some Sweeps Week extravaganza. Imagine the possibilities.

I know it seems might cold-hearted of me, but I didn't buy her "breakdown" last night for a minute.Frankly, when she/they said she had a bad day, I thought Vonzell and someone else connected with the show clashed about something. That's what crossed my mind. There is definitely more than a touch of prima donna about Vonzell. I could easily see her getting into a snit about something and then falling back on a good old crying jag -- the best weapon many young women have for getting their way.
Heck, even Simon let her off easy because of the tears.
Anyway, I'm hoping whatever went on didn't infect Carrie. She also seemed overly emotional last night. I hope Carrie pulls it together, because with Randy's clearly biased efforts to make excuses for Vonzell's terrible singing, and Simon pulling his punches for Vonzell, they might wind up swinging votes her way.
If it isn't a Bo-Carrie final, I'll be disgusted. If it is, I'd be satisfied whichever way it turned out, because both will get contracts and have careers after this.
