The 80s Miami Vice look was actually a pretty good look.
I actually wish it would come back. Light linen or cotton jackets with pastels and panamas.
I don't have the same body I had back then, but I still think it was a look that would work.

Plus I loved to listen to Clay sing but couldn't watch him doing it. Same here! I don't like his speaking voice, either. It's too John Edwards-ish. But he's a powerful singer :)
Poor Fantasia though--wow, that was awful tonight.

My experience is as a police officer and paramedic. It sounded like spite to me also. I'd be willing to bet that she got a few licks in herself and who even knows if she is telling the whole truth.
I feel the same way, he needs to rise above it and do something really good in his life. I feel hopeful for him because I have heard him make numerous references to God, so maybe he has that life behind him now.
He does have talent but sadly not much of a stage presence. I hope he finds a place to sing for a living. He doesn't sound like he has much in the way of education or other abilities.

I wouldn't automatically believe the girl without question brigette.
I have seen tons of cases like that and it is very rarely all it seems on the surface.

"IIRC, Mr. Limousine Driver was when they were Mark Don and Terry (Knight)."
Mel Schacher was the bass player when I saw them (right after the red album). Mel was the bass player on 96 Tears (Question Mark and the Mysterians) as well. Here's exactly what they looked like from the side of the stage:

Hey all...
My daughter was doing homework on the PC during Idol. I was smart and tuned in around 9:20pm just to miss Fantasia.
Sounds like I made the right choice.
Anyway...sad to see Nikko get the boot again. Scott must have gotten the fat boys and wife-beaters vote and managed to escape the "vote off" again.
I was surprised to see Vonzell in the bottom 3. I think she's one of the better vocalists.
Oh well....South Park is much better this week. Baseball and parent fights! Cool!

Has she done anything since she won?Although AI is all about finding and making pop stars, Fantasia has bombed on the Billboard pop charts. Her first album, "Free Yourself," has done moderately well on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop/urban music charts. It's been on those charts 18 weeks and is currently #7, although it's been dropping like a stone the last three weeks. It has gone platinum.

yes, he beat up his girlfriend and mother of his child....I have no respect for him...hope he goes soon. I had no idea! That makes me want him GONE as in GONE real soon. His talent is apparent, but that rules him out as an idol to me! YUK!
To: beandog
I want to know who the million people are that bought her record. As I understand it, it was flogged (pushed) pretty heavily by some big names in the R&B/hip-hop/urban music world. Meaning black big shots in that genre of music gave her a big helping hand. Even so, her CD has only been a moderate success, and she has basically bombed on the pop charts.

I don't think Vonzell deserved to be in the bottom three.

SLINGBLADE IS SAFE!Yippeeeeeee!!! You know I could never stand Nikko. Whatever it was he did up there on that stage, it wasn't singing. Scott deserves to go, also, but maybe next week.

Scott deserves to go, also, but maybe next week.Yeah, we both thought he might--might--make it to the final four, but the competition is exposing his weaknesses (among other things). BTW, he gave a nice speech at the end of tonight's show, before he found out he was safe. I still kinda like him and hope he finds a career in music.
