I was glad he didn't win so he wouldn't have to sing the "Inside your heaven" song.

Exactly. Most Bo fans hate the song. That's why his single is not being promoted much. I wouldn't be surprised if Bo, himself, doesn't want that lousy song promoted. Unlike Carrie, we won't be able to judge Bo's eventual success or failure in the business until his first album comes out.

No, I can't. Tried the link and it said my browser can't use that media player, or something like that. I like my browser just the way it is. Too often in the past I have upgraded something and wound up wishing I hadn't. I now leave things alone.

Thanks for the link though.

If you have iTunes installed, you can listen to a 30 second clip of it.

I thought I would pop over here for an update.

Anyone heard Carrie's single yet? I haven't just wondering if it sounds good.

Howdy :)

GSC posted an audio link to Carrie's single a few days ago, but I don't know if it's still active. The song sounded GREAT! I tried to find the single today at Walmart and the mall but no luck.

Carrie's single CD was the #1 album today at iTunes, FWIW.

Thanks guys. I will be looking forward to the whole album when it comes out. I predict it will do well, especially in light of the iTunes thing.

I REALLY can't wait until next season. You're doing a live thread again aren't you jonny?

I sure hope so. :)

Desmond Child Produces Both Finalists!
Tuesday June 14, 6:39 pm ET

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Grammy-award winning songwriter/producer Desmond Child has completed production on the first singles to be released from "American Idol 4" winner Carrie Underwood, and runner-up Bo Bice. Carrie's single "Inside Your Heaven" written by Andreas Carlsson, Pelle Nyhlen, and Savan Kotecha with the B-side, "Independence Day" (originally recorded by Martina McBride and written by Gretchen Peters), will be released June 14th. Bo Bice's first single (released June 21st) is "Vehicle" (the '70's hit from Ides of March). Bo's B-side is his version of "Inside Your Heaven," which he also sang on the "Idol" final telecast.

Child produced this season's cast album, "American Idol 4: The Showstoppers," which debuted on BILLBOARD's 200 chart in the top 10 after its May 17th release [Wolfstar note: If you've been following my updates, you know it's been dropping like a rock], and he'll be meeting with Underwood and Bice to discuss their major-label debuts on 19 Recordings/RCA. Mr. Child has also written and produced the chart-topping hits for "Idol" finalists Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, and Diana DeGarmo. [Wolfstar note: If Diana ever had a chart-topping hit, I sure missed it. Her career is going nowhere.]

Mr. Child with over 60 Top 40 hits to his credit for Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, and Ricky Martin, among many others, most recently wrote Joss Stone's latest single "Right To Be Wrong."

BO NEWS and appearance schedule
American Idol's Bo Bice on a Roll

American Idol 4 may be over, but the excitement generated by this year's competition is still building. Fans of Bo Bice were somewhat disappointed that he didn't win the competition, but in the weeks that have followed the May 25 finale, Bo has been anything but idle!

Immediately following the finale, Bo was in the recording studio, laying down the tracks for his single of 'Inside Your Heaven' and 'Vehicle,' which will be released on June 21st. The single is already up for pre-sale on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, and Bo has been leading Carrie in the online sales rankings.

Bo will be appearing on the Today Show on June 20th, promoting his single and performing live. On June 22, he will appear on the View and on July 6, he will be a guest on Jay Leno's Tonight Show.

Bo will also be featured in the June 17 issue of Rolling Stone magazine. A crew from the magazine spent a few days with Bo in Alabama, interviewing Bo and members of his band, Sugar Money.

On July 12, the top 10 finalists will kick off this year's tour in Sunrise, Florida. The tour will stop at 43 cities over the course of two months, and Bo will have a chance to play for the hometown crowd in Birmingham on July 15. Many of these dates are already sold out, and concert producers are promising a new, improved show this time around.

Bo may not be the official 'Idol,' but there is no doubt that he will benefit from having had the exposure that the show affords. No doubt about it, Bo Bice is ready to rock your world!

Agreed. That's why the AI producers rush out a winner's single immediately after the show, and they rush to get their albums out ASAP.

Bo would really make some hits out of good songs if they find them.
Carrie will almost fit in as a typical lower level country star.

You're welcome. There are a few of us who want to keep track of what happens to Bo and Carrie, at least for awhile.

LOL! He'll probably show up in his usual torn jeans and loose shirt, and who knows what those women might try to do. Maybe try to re-dress him right there on live TeeVee.

BTW, Carrie's single did not open in the top 50 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart. I'll try to find and post her actual numbers later today. As a point of contrast, a single off Black Eyed Peas' new album, which came out the same day as Carrie's single, is in #2 behind Mariah Carey's single, which stays at #1 this week.

CARRIE'S SINGLE UPDATE: Carrie's single did not make any of the top spots on any Billboard chart with this week's update. However, Billboard's "Chart Beat" column by Barry A Jeckell, June 16, 2005, had the following confusing item:

'INSIDE' STORY: Carrie Underwood collects her first No. 1 in Billboard, joining a long list of chart-topping "American Idol" competitors. Her "Inside Your Heaven" / "Independence Day" (Arista) makes a premature debut at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles Sales chart, based solely on street date violations. Those same infringements bring Underwood onto the Singles Sales chart at No. 5 (This chart was formerly known as Hot 100 Singles Sales, but since it also feeds the Pop 100, it was appropriate to change the name).

I don't know if I can translate this into English, but will give it a shot. I start by assuming he's referring to some sales charts that must only be available on the subscription site. I have no idea what the different is between them and the famous charts made that are made public and updated every week (which are the industry's bible). Anyway, apparently sales of Carries single that violated the actual release date pushed her to #1 on the Hot Country Singles Sales chart and #5 on the Hot 100 Singles Sales chart. (Whatever all that means.)

In any case, Carrie has not shown up on any of the public chart updates released today by Billboard. So maybe we'll see these so-called "premature" sales reflected in next week's chart updates.

The top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles chart as of today's update are:
1, We Belong Together, Mariah Carey
2, Hollaback Girl, Gwen Stefani
3, Don't Phunk With My Heart, The Black Eyed Peas
4, Just A Lil Bit, 50 Cent
5, Oh, Ciara Featuring Ludacris
6, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Kelly Clarkson
7, Grind With Me, Pretty Ricky
8, Switch, Will Smith
9, Since U Been Gone, Kelly Clarkson
10, Speed Of Sound, Coldplay

(Kelly's "Breakaway" is in #36 on this chart, and is #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart for the 16th straight week. Her "Since You Been Gone" has been certified triple platinum.)

On the Billboard Pop 100 chart, the top 10 are:
1, Hollaback Girl, Gwen Stefani
2, Don't Phunk With My Heart, The Black Eyed Peas
3, We Belong Together, Mariah Carey
4, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Kelly Clarkson
5, Switch, Will Smith
6, Oh, Ciara Featuring Ludacris
7, Just A Lil Bit, 50 Cent
8, Since U Been Gone, Kelly Clarkson
9, Don't Cha, The Pussycat Dolls Featuring Busta Rhymes
10, Incomplete, Backstreet Boys

On the Hot Country Singles chart, the top 10 are:
1, Making Memories Of Us, Keith Urban
2, Fast Cars And Freedom, Rascal Flatts
3, Lot Of Leavin' Left To Do, Dierks Bentley
4, You'll Be There, George Strait
5, Something More, Sugarland
6, As Good As I Once Was, Toby Keith
7, Keg In The Closet, Kenny Chesney
8, Mississippi Girl, Faith Hill
9, If Something Should Happen, Darryl Worley
10, That's What I Love About Sunday, Craig Morgan

Carrie will almost fit in as a typical lower level country star.

It's too early to tell, but based on today's Billboard updates and the odd note from Billboard's "Chart Beat" column, you may very well turn out to be right. We'll get a better idea next week when her single has officially been out for awhile.
