He's crabby one for sure but I still handle him. He got me on the lip of all places. No I wasn't playing kissy face 8>) It was actually quite quick and painless. Those teeth are like razor blades

I'm a descendant of Rob Roy-- so is the founder of Coca Cola.

The better to hold on to those quick mice meals! Is your neighbor a girl? Sometimes male reptiles (greenish scale covered critters, not P.J. O'Roarke) get possessive of their female owners; I'm not sure why, but I've read about it. Iguanas can get almost violent about it.

No, the owner is a guy and works for a veterinarian. He could use a lady around the house. Lot's of herps at the house probably make some prospects shy away.

"I'm a descendant of Rob Roy-- so is the founder of Coca Cola."

Which explains the similarities in the names.

".....I never saw the movie, mostly because the name of it sucked. Who idiot named that movie?......"

1) Bad sentence structure (In bold above).

2) The answer to the misworded question is: Sir Walter Scott.

Sir Walter Scott (1771 - 1832)
Scottish Novelist and Poet

Is THIS the "idiot" you were referring to?

That is a great story.

Did you talk about anything besides washing snakes?

Perhaps it had more impact on film than the written word.

Read the book but couldn't say I found it enjoyable or enlightening.

Still debating whether to tackle Atlas Shrugged.

The snake washing incident took place in 1977. It was a couple of years before Steve McQueen died from cancer. He mostly asked questions while I washed the snakes; two or three of them if I remember right. I think he just appreciated getting out of the shopping center craziness. Several of the women I knew in the center had been into the shop asking me if I had seen him and if he showed up they wanted me to put it on the center intercom. He and his girlfriend's trip was announced the day before so all the female employees were waiting that day for him to show up. I thought it was silliness then and I think stuff like that is silly now. I like to think he was glad I didn't seem to know who he was. He was dressed in a sheepskin coat and he looked tired; the quiet of my shop was a refuge.

I've had the opportunity to talk(briefly)to other stars over the years and am not impressed by their hype. They put their pants on one leg at a time, same as me. They just get paid more.

No, Doc, that ISN'T the "idiot". I was referring to the Hollywood executive to decided to name the movie Rob Roy.

1977 must have been close to when Steve McQueen made his last film, which I think was "Papillion". If I recall correctly he was imprisoned by the French in that movie.

Anyway, I grew up loving Steve McQueen movies and he is still one of my all time favorite actors.

I think my favorite McQueen movie is Great Escape. He had great blue eyes; not quite Mel blue, but nice.

Rand was an atheist, which I disagree with her on but on issues of metaphysics and epistemology, she has it nailed.

The Fountainhead. The only drawback is Gary Cooper's wooden acting.

".........I was referring to the Hollywood executive to decided to name the movie Rob Roy........."

?

I not sure I understand you since.........The movie Rob Roy was based on Sir Walter Scott's novel which is named, amazingly enough, ROB ROY.

FYI (from the above link):
"SYNOPSIS: This epic adaptation of Sir Walter Scott's novel details the adventures and misfortunes of Scottish clan leader Rob Roy McGregor (1671-1734). Rob Roy, a man of steely integrity and honor, requests a loan from the Marquis of Montrose in order to enlarge his farm."

They purposely retained the name of the book that the movie was made from. I suppose that they could have named it "The Alien Meets The Blob" instead. Indeed, this change would have made it more palatable to the uneducated products of the current Public School System. Wouldn't you agree?

Have you read either The Fountainhead or Altas Shrugged?

If so, what did you think of them?

Yeah, they even got Superfly himself (Ron O'Neal) to play the head Cuban. Written and directed by John Milius, who wrote the screenplays to Apocalypse Now and Conan the Republican, er, Barbarian.
