Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Join the club. Spent four agonizing hours of nothing this morning. No students, no faculty, no work. Jumping at little noises.
Now I'm home and it's a little better.
(Psst: about the nameless subject - watch "Gankutsuou". It's dark and violent, though)

Good luck with the dentist AND the closing. Will keep you in my prayers that both are uneventful! ;o)

I am home from the dealership again. There was something wrong with the one I brought home last night. I discovered it doesn't have the rear a/c! We got it taken care of, but I ended up getting the one in Coastal Grey vs. the Silver Pearl. I really don't care what color it is (as long as it isn't orange). I just want it to have the right options.
The plates come in five days from now, which is the next time I need to visit them. elf-boy is sitting in the car in the garage right now. I almost think he likes it more than I do :-)

Oh, the Coastal Gray would have been my first choice. On the website it looked like it had a blue cast to it. Does it look that way in person, or is it more of a dark pewter?
Oh yeah, rear A/C is a MUST in your neck of the woods, like a rear heat unit is in mine!

Yeah...they're stocked with LOTS of dried beans... ;-) Heh...I've got two bags of pintos, a bag of split peas, and a bag of lentils that I haven't opened yet.

Worked out great. The holes in the blocks made great planters for marigolds. They're kinda ugly, even painted, so I don't think I'll use them forever. I have my eyes on these kits:

They're interlocking plastic thingies. But I don't think I would *ever* justify $200+ for each 4 x 8 bed. Never ever.

That's a lot of money for plastic bricks...
Well, about time to go to choir! Has been a very good day. I got a long IM conversation with my best friend - she thinks she might be pregnant which is most exciting. Especially since she's hoping it'll make her parents accept her choice to be "wife and mother" rather than high-powered executive.

Thank you!
I'm trying to figure out this coffee pot my mom gave Steve for Christmas year before last. I think we've used it once. It's supposed to have those cone shaped filters in it and every single time it overflows. I just now used a 4-cup regular filter and it seems to have worked ok...at least I'm not freakin' out wiping up coffee.
Now that I drink decaf and Steve drinks regular, we're gonna have to have two pots! This one is nice, because all Steve has to do in the morning is push the button and it make the coffee into a thermal jug. Then it shuts off. Then I can get up later and drink it.

The bricks worked out fine. This pic was early in the season.

Bunnies keep chewing holes in our chicken fencing...it's just plastic netting. I guess it just gets in their way.
My dad just emailed me...wanting to pick up the jedis tomorrow for a while.
