Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

G'nad wants you all to know that there is another fire...he just left to see how close it is. Keep us (g'nad) in your prayers...
*me thinks he secretly enjoys this because it gets his blood up and call him to action...he likes action...*

Prayers there is only enough action to entertain him, and no more.

okay, here's the SITREP...
the fire is about 2 1/2 miles north of us, but the wind is strong outta the North... when the smoke reached us it was dense and low to the ground, which made us think it was closer than it was... barometric pressure kept it low...
I'm not too concerned anymore... no "action" required on my part...
thanks fer the prayers... they help...
EGE: why yes... I did pack a hogleg... all the better tuh deal with a dumb hick arsonist with... North of the ridge is so wild, they'd never find a body afore the yotes and other varmints "disposed" of the evidence... if they could even find it... I have every intention of kneecapping any firestarter I catch in the act... as part of a citizens arrest of course...

I imagine we'll go with the standard kit. It's looks awful to me, but Steve says it's not too bad. One push rod tubewas just demolished but the other seven were in good shape. We got one of the heads off. He's worked on it solid for two days but he just left to take the boys to church for choir.
I took EVERYTHING out of the bug, except the headliner, the dash, and the steering wheel and just vacuumed the beejeebies out of it with a very strong shop vac Steve brought home from work.. Sucked a bunch of my pans up. I mean, up. As in gone. Ha ha! "Hey! I can see the shop floor!"
Buncha spiders. Yikes! I knew there would be and I intend to bomb it this evening. You know sitting out in the field it had to get some black widows in it.
Took the muffler off and found it was FULL of fluff! Apparently there was a mouse living in there! I found out it was getting the fluff from the headliner. I'm taking it out soon.
Now I've gone and told you almost all my blog info...oh well, you can go look at the pictures when I get them uploaded.
I'm gonna get some Kung Pao Chicken right now. I can't stand that smell any longer.
