Just for levity and to give us all a respite from the troubles of the world, I would like to throw out a question. What do you consider to be the greatest non-country driving songs of all time. So far my list contains the following:

Radar Love (In my opinion the absolute best)-Golden Earring; Magic Carpet Ride-Steppenwolf; Riders On The Storm-The Doors; Two Tickets To Paradise-Eddie Money; Born to Be Wild-Steppenwolf; Born To Run-Bruce Springsteen; Paradise by the Dashboard Lights-Meatloaf; Fire-Jimmie Hendrix; Hollywood Nights-Bob Seeger

So what do you think? Let's here your suggestions.

"Faithfully" by Journey is a classic mellow road song. And "The Load-Out" and "Running on Empty" by Jackson Browne are two great road classics.

IMO, "Riders on the Storm" by the Doors is one of the best songs of all time.

You know, much as I can't stand Springsteen's politics these days, I am a born-and-raised Jersey girl and hands-down his music is the best to drive to. "Jungleland" still gives me chills every time I hear it after all these years. The "Born to Run" CD has a permanent place on my car visor, ready to be slipped into the CD player at any moment!

Aside from that, anything by JOE WALSH is absolute max volume listening while driving with the windows down!

I went to school with John(sat in front of him in study hall my senior year), and hate the fact that he has decided to veer to the left politicly, but I still like his music.

Lyrics for: Fire

I am the god of hell fire, and I bring you
Fire, I'll take you to burn
Fire, I'll take you to learn
I'll see you burn

You fought hard and you saved and earned
But all of it's going to burn
And your mind, your tiny mind
You know you've really been so blind
Now 's your time, burn your mind
You're falling far too far behind
Oh no, oh no, oh no, you're gonna burn

Fire, to destroy all you've done
Fire, to end all you've become
I'll feel you burn

You've been living like a little girl
In the middle of your little world
And your mind, your tiny mind
You know you've really been so blind
Now 's your time, burn your mind
You're falling far too far behind
OOhhh
Fire, I'll take you to burn
Fire, I'll take you to learn
You're gonna burn, you're gonna burn
You're gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn

Fire, I'll take you to burn
Fire, I'll take you to learn
Fire, I'll take you to bed

Judas Priest - You've Got Another Thing Comin'

"Screaming for Vengeance" has been known to get me to push down a little too hard on the accelerator from time to time as well. ;)
