Here's a suggestion on how to keep a thread going: Pick someone else in the thread you disagree with. Read one of their posts. Then, politely, post a reply to them specifically designed to piss them off. If the person you target isn't particuarly intelligent (and there are a small few here on FR), you can keep a thread going almost indefinitely.

Be warned, though, after a few posts it will become difficult for third parties to distinguish which of you is which. This is also only recommended if you have copious amounts of free time.

I have noticed that when I post a reply, very frequently the thread I have posted to dies... I am starting to get a little complex here folks... What am I doing wrong?

Ummm... It's because you're so smart that when you post you have said everything intelligent that needs to be said on a topic and no one can add anything more.

Often, they are stunned at your comprehensive wisdom, and readers are embarrassed that anything they might add would seem stupid, especially when posted right next to your brilliance.

So, keep posting!
