FRIDAY FUN THREAD: WHAT KIND OF DOG DO YOU HAVE?
Posted on 02/11/2005 9:33:20 AM PST by TXBSAFH
As for myself and Mrs. TXBSAFH we have a retirer racing Greyhound named Patti. As sweet lazy 40 mph couch potato, I mean if the dog got any calmer it would involve a taxidermist.
We felt the need for speed.

Laughing - Felco has been skunked three times - all three times while I was watching. I'm an expert on removal of skunk stink from dog fur - if you need the formula and the process, just e-mail.
I bet that is a great combo. A friend has a Bernese Mountain dog and he is so-o-o loveable.
Picture?

She is an A.P.B.T. who can't stop licking people.
She just had surgery last week to remove some tumors....and within 2 days she was running around like nothing happened.

What a great pic!! My Great Pyrenees, Cody, will be 2 next month. He is a horse...but the best and sweetest dog I've ever had. At 130lbs, he still thinks he's a lap dog, and loves to half lay on me at bedtime. He will literally snuggle for hours at a time.
My other baby, Lacy, is a Chow. She has more personality than any other dog I've seen...and gives kisses on demand. The sweetest face in the world.

I wish ours was inside with us but he is outside guarding the fort and chasing predators away. They are beautiful dogs! I have to get some good pictures of him. Another month or so and he will start loosing his winter hair and I will be out there brushing him. They are great dogs. Perfect I think in temperament. We have a llaso apso inside who is also a sweet heart, she does a good job barking and acting all indignant when strangers come up the drive also.

Not actually a pic of Myrtle. Just representative of the breed.

A real party animal. This is how he celebrated on Election Night 2004.

We were getting our Dobies from a breeder in TN who were oversized as yours is. Standard weight for a male dobe is 85 lbs.
Unfortunately, all our large Dobies had DCM and led very short lives. They are such lovely, endearing animals that we are shunning all such breeders in hopes that the smaller size will put less stress on the heart.

Jack Russel terrorist I meant to add, while my JR was in the puppy stage, my husband called her Jack the Ripper, because she ripped everything apart:), He said she would have shredded a 100lb anvil:)
She has grown to be a very calm (for JR's that is) dog tho. Laying here beside me as I speak:)

One of our dogs is a good old rescued from the pound who found her at 3 mos living on the hwy. She's a mix many origins. Our second is a year old jack russell terrier we inherited from our daughter and son-in-law because she was a little too much with their 3 small children. Another grandson, age 5, asked why Nala(the dog) was living at our house now, I explained that 3 children and a dog were too much. He said it was probably a good thing they picked the dog to get rid of instead of one of the kids. I agreed but wondered at what was going thru his mind about the decision process. They use eeny, meeny, miney, mo at his house.
