Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Someone said the other day that they're going to start making Diet Coke with Splenda. Woo Hoo! I like the taste of Coke better than Pepsi, but I just didn't like the aspartame aftertaste of Diet Coke.

I prefer Diet Coke over regular Coke, but I also prefer regular Pepsi to Diet PepsiSame here, Diet Pepsi has a strange aftertaste that I don't like. Hair didn't believe me at first that Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi taste different... had to give me a blind taste test to prove I could tell the difference.

All brown cola beverages taste the same to me... Coke, Pepsi, Diet, generic cola brand... :~D

I hope they keep the "original" Diet Coke too! Funny, but to me regular Coke has a nasty aftertaste, Diet Coke doesn't.

I can DEFINITELY taste the difference between Coke and Pepsi and the diet versions thereof. I prefer Pepsi, though I admit I don't like the Diet as much. It's liveable, I guess.
BTW, the Dr. Pepper stuff isn't bad...

I'd be happy if they got rid of aspartame in all diet sodas. Although I like the no calorie bit, I can certainly tast that aftertaste. Splenda doesn't have nearly as much of one.

Sold the exercise bike. Or I assume so...they won't actually be by to get it until tomorrow.
Getting less than a quarter of what I paid for it, but...guess that's what I get for buying stuff new.

Never mind. False alarm. Person called back and said they've decided they don't want it because it's too heavy.
OK...

Adding anything to the delight that is Diet Dr Pepper is just wrong. But it should taste exactly like regular Vanilla Cherry Dr Pepper, only less sweet. That's what I love about Diet Dr Pepper, it doesn't taste diet.
Hello, home from church. There was an accident just before the freeway so I got to sit for thirty minutes, but I'm home now. I got a reprieve on the hw due tomorrow night, so it's just the stuff due at midnight I have to worry about. And I need to get new library books and some beef because I really want a Sunday pot roast.

Mmmm...pot roast...
We had a sort of tortilla casserole out at the house, and now I'm doing laundry and thinning stuff out yet again. I think it's about as thin as it's gonna get.
Guess I could start deep cleaning the places that were behind furniture before, so I'm not doing all of that at the last minute.
Or I could just read, which sounds like a far nicer idea.

My vote goes for "just read".
So is everything going to fit into Van-sama?

More of the same. Halvah is upset. She's decided she doesn't like this brand. She has been lecturing me all day, and when I went in to check, she had carefully pushed all the new stuff aside and eaten the few remaining pieces of the old kind that I'd dumped in the bowl first.
Yeah, I know...supposedly you aren't supposed to switch abruptly, but...
You know, looking at the physiques of the different cats, you'd never guess Halvah was the finicky one...

If I mail most of the books and get a roof bag for the squishy things...everything should fit in Van-sama, though it'll be tight.
Hopefully we can do some experimentation before the actual moving day!

Hehehe....one time I was switching to a different dry food and did the food-mixing thing. The little rascal would nose the new kibble out of the bowl.

*sigh* Yep, I just about had that happen. She had it neatly piled on one side of the bowl.
She'll adjust or starve, though. I'm hardhearted.
Besides, we've been through this before.

My Kitty didn't bother with neat piles. I just had kibble scattered around the bowl. Then she gives me this look like I should have known better.

Have you read about the big storm that's coming our way this week?
Supposed to get to Corin and Lil during the day tomorrow, and to us on Tuesday. The National Weather folks in Baltimore are saying anwhwere from 6-10" of snow. I haven't heard any predictions for our area, yet.
Joseph is thrilled! He's going back to school tomorrow after 10 days off, but wants another snow day, anyway! LOL!

They're telling us four to eight inches, possibly more since it's moving so slowly.
I'm with Joseph...a snow day'd be nice... ;-)
But we'll see. I don't have high hopes for it considering how the predictions have gone for us so far this winter.
Runnin' out for whole wheat flour to make more tortillas...
