Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Happy Sunday, oh Spammer.
I am very relieved, as it looks like we are not getting snow this morning. Since I'm driving thirty miles cross-country to church, that was a series concern for me. I'm a snow-wimp.

Been and back...and it was wicked cold.
I have thought that God really had two equivalent choices when designing Hell. It could be a place of extreme, non-consuming fire or of extreme, non-numbing cold.

Hey, at least you didn't freeze to death... it's pretty warm here, going to be nearly 50 this afternoon.

Maybe you should move...
Ok, about time to leave. I hope to be back, and at work with homework, by two.

Mwahaha, it's a gorgeous day and the posted limits are as high as 75 in some spots. I love this state.
And the coming-back drive, where I head due west straight at a gorgeous cluster of mountains, is the best.

According to Dante, the ninth and lowest level of Hell was a vast frozen lake, reserved for the very worst sinners.

Hullo!
I went over to Wal-mart after church this morning to look at phones, and they DO have the Tracfone thingies. I didn't quite bring myself to buy one, since they're thirty-five bucks and only come with ten minutes, so I'd have had to spend fifty bucks or so. I'll get one before we leave, though, I think!
Also got Tam some pom-pom balls since he's managed to lose his last four and has been mourning them loudly.
Oh...and just because I thought Jen would find it annoying, I bought some newfangled soda - Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. ;-) I've never heard of such a thing! And I don't usually buy soda. But...heh...it was just weird enough to be worth checking out. Haven't tasted it yet.
I'm such a heretic...

Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper.Rose and I had a chance to try the regular (not Diet) version of this a couple of weeks ago... I thought it tasted sort of like a cherry creme soda, not bad at all.

Mmm...I like cherry creme soda. I may well like it, then.
I'm a sucker for trying new things...so I had to at least give it a shot!

Then again, the Diet version of a soft drink can often differ a lot from the regular version... for instance, I prefer Diet Coke over regular Coke, but I also prefer regular Pepsi to Diet Pepsi... gives me endless opportunity to confuse waitpersons at the restaurant.
"Do you have Diet Coke? Oh, you have Pepsi... OK, I'll have a regular Pepsi..."

Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper.Let's see if I can do this from memory:
"...an owner's manual from a Ford Lincoln Mercury Sable; a personal conveyance named for it's inventor, an assassinated national leader, a mythological deity, and a small fur-bearing mammal."
Dan Aykroyd as Beldar Conehead, explaining one of the "gifts" he has brought back from the Planet of the Bluntskulls.

TracFone sometimes runs specials where they give you additional minutes if you register your phone by internet (as if there were any other way!) Also, as long as you renew your card before the expiration date, your minutes are rolled over, so if you don't use your phone much you can build up quite a large number of minutes in a relatively short period of time.
