Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I may take pictures, but only discreet ones...only to get an idea of how it's being done. This really is exciting...most exciting thing we've done for this house since the bathroom re-do, I guess!

If there's good sod, they're pretty good at cutting it out and putting the grass back. There's three holes, the big one is probably two feet in diameter.

Good morning all!

Taking some pictures has another benefit, of documenting exactly where it is and where the lids are.

This is true!
You know, I take SCADS of pictures of the Beetle. I don't post every one of them in the blog, but I take a picture of just about every single thing we remove before and after.
For future reference.

Hey, I made another batch of Steve's bread...adjusted the measurements and it apparently did great. He took it to work to share with his co-workers, which is a compliment!
You know, the last effort collapsed during baking.
Here's the recipe...
In the bottom of the bucket put,
2 tbsp canola oil
300ml water
In a bowl, weigh and mix
10 oz all-purpose flour
6 oz whole wheat flour
1 oz wheat bran
1 oz ground flaxseed meal
1 heaping tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
Layer onto water, make a pit in the flour, add 1 heaping tsp instant yeast.
Bake on white bread cycle, 1.5lb loaf setting.
I made this last night and it baked and was ready to go at 5:40am this morning using the delayed bake setting. I didn't see it, but before he left for work, Steve told me it didn't collapse.

I just have an issue with you posting, on the same day, septic tank drainage stories and bread recipes.

We took pictures of every step in our remodel..SSQ's gonna put up a web cam for ours. ;o) It will take shots a few times a day, then when it's done it will be a time-lapse record of the addition!

We were off line when Hunter S. Thompson 'offed' himself... and I never saw if you guys made any comments about it.
It doesn't surprise me at all that he did it. It's got to be near impossible to function in a world where just across the bar from you a giant reptile devours the cocktail waitress and no one else seems to notice.
"Kill the body and the head will die"... Hunter S.Thompson
His family is rally strange... they poured some Chivas and had a toast to him - with him dead there in his chair in front of his typewriter.

The dry ingredients are all weighed...so that wheat bran was about 2/3rds of a cup...the flaxseed, maybe a half a cup?
