The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Thanks. I've heard of Cyndi Lauper, though I don't know who she is, never heard of the rest, though. I must be stuck back in the 60's or something. I adore Loretta Lynn's new CD.

What does your tagline say? I get "speak, possum and sapient" out of it, probably incorrectly, but definitely not enough to understand it.

Praise GOD! Our income tax return just came in! Just made it to our pending credits!

I started shouting and Joshua said "Yippee! We get to go eat chinese food!"

1) Cyndi Lauper ... as in "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." She has mellowed quite a bit. She was at the Grammys and was pretty!

2) Tagline says "I can't hear you. I have a banana in my ear." or something to that effect. I lifted it off a list of handy latin phrases.

Yeah, he has some good things to say, but his mouth got in the way.. so to speak.

IMHO, It is all well and good to promote your own site, but he did so at the expense of Free Republic. Plus, a lot of Freepers have supported him in the past. I feel like he has shot himself in the foot. It will heal. It will take time, but the Freepers who have always supoprted him will get over it eventually.

Yeah, she is kind of cute. Tagline sounds kind of like the bunny with pancake thing. I like it.

Yeah, I like Hannity. I think he's a good person and a warrior for the right cause. IMO, although he'd have been better off leaving us alone, his "bashing" was minor compared to the stuff routinely said about him on FR. Which is also very public. Agreed that some freepers just mindlessly and constantly bash almost anything, so Sean could have ignored it.

I got a good impression of him from reading his first book, which makes its points clearly, concisely and with plenty of impact. And which also has a nice sentence about FR.

I have no probem with him pushing his new book, it's one of the joys of the free market and capitalism that we do more good for mankind by making money and pursuing our own interests than socialist countries (and charities for that matter) do through the entirety of their false altruism.

I filed on the 4th, e-filed.

You know you can check your return status online? I knew yesterday mine was scheduled to be credited to my account today.

He must have a good ghost writer then. ;)

I like Sean to the extent that I believe he is a genuinely good person: God-fearing, a devoted husband and father, and a patriot. But he is a lightweight - likeable and handsome - but a lightweight nonetheless. He is entertaining, but that's about it.

hmm, evidently it takes about six weeks. Three more to go.

We mailed it in, and it will not be electronically transfered. So, the waiting game begins... er... continues.

I am looking forward to the tax refund almost as much as you have been. We are going to get a much needed new vehicle. What I drive currently is a Solara. I bought it used in late 2000. Back when I didn't need a lot of carseat, just enough room for a booster. Needs change. Now, we need something that can seat more than 4, and... I won't kill myself trying to get the baby out of the car.

Good morning!

I'm feeling slightly more human. Everything is still miserable, but because I got it humid in here, I was able to get a good night's sleep in. I only woke up once. It's now a little clammy, but that's ok.

Hey, apparently I was wrong about wrong about only one cat because the next-door peple have two. I am really not sure I could handle three cats, especially not if we have to wait until July to get a bigger place, but two certainly isn't a problem, if that helps.

We just got Hannity in our radio market, in the evening, when I'm usually not driving. I enjoy his weird accent. Don't know if there is a ghost writer.

I just read John Stossel's book, which is amazingly good.
