We went to see Barnam and Bailey when I was a kid and I'll never forget it! it was awesome.

Heh...on the way in one of the PETA-nazis tried to hand us some propaganda. I looked her straight in the eye and yelled "NO THANK YOU!"

The closest they get to here is Wichita Kansas. Too far to go in our car.

I wonder if the Shrine one is any good? Kids tickets start at $6...that sounds pretty reasonable...

I went to the circus as a kid, too. But the only thing I remember were the port-a-potties. Vey traumatic.

Speaking of childhood... we're having cheesey-80's-music here in the office. Brings back memories.

I bet the Jedis would enjoy the Shrine circus. There's something magical about going when you're a kid. But I'm old enough to miss the tents and sawdust.

"The Greatest Show on Earth" (Best Picture 1952) is one of my favorite movies.

I made a hugh mistake and took Matthew in a porta potty when he was little at the park. When I got in, I realized it was FULL and the last person in there had barfed up what appeared to be their entire insides. It was awful and I tried to get us out fast but Matthew caught sight of it and now there is NO WAY he will go in one! Poor kid.

For some reason, Joshua has picked up on Matthew's dislike of them and points out every single one he sees. Driving down the road, it's a chorus of "Porta Potty! Porta Potty!"

It just irritates Matthew to death. **chuckling**

Well, I think I'm kinda in the minority here; I mean I like Sean Hannity though I don't always agree with everything he says but I do like the way he sticks to his principles and never seem to back down when he's "discussing" with a liberal, it's usually the liberal who backs down.

I also have noe desire to diss Canada or the Canadian people as I'm part Canadian on my mom's side and I'll never forget it was a Canadian who called me up on 9/11/01 to see f I was al right after the attacks.

Now the Canadian government is another story and most Canadians I've talked with are not happy at all with thier government.

I guess with my continued support for Hannity and love for Canada (Don't get me wrong, I'm a proud US citizen)that I feel sometimes I don't belong on FR because I don't like the right people nor dislike the right people.

Does this makle sense and I'm sorry to let this out on this thread but on every thread there seems to be quite a bit of Hannity-bashing.

I graduated from high school in '81. The eighties are the time period of my wild yute. My 20s.

I thought the music stunk a lot of the time...disco, you know? When they disco-ized Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark", my respect for him began it's downward spiral. How could he allow that?

There's only *1* disco group I like - Boney M. We had a tape of one of their greatest hits albums. I still know the words. :)

My awareness of pop music wasn't that well developed in the 80's - elementary school and all. But there are some 80's songs that are bouncy and cheesey and just make me smile.

In the 80s...I was wearing out my Dad's Doc Watson records. Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, too.

Funny...neither of my parents really cared much for country or folk - Mom mostly listened to classical and opera and Dad listened to jazz - though they had a few records amongst everything else. But it was those that we kids gravitated to right from the start. Dunno what that means. ;-)
