Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I don't plan on quitting work until the first of April...so I dunno if it's TOO much time.
But it took them a month to hire me since it involves search committees and other garbage, it being a gubmit organization, so maybe it isn't unreasonable.
I don't know! Yikes!

Maybe if we both pray together? ;-)We did our nighttime prayers with the kids, and prayed for Joseph's "Special Intention"

Travelin' in a fried out combie
On a hippie-trail, head full of zombie
I met a strange lady, she made me nervous
She took me in and gave me breakfast
And she said...

Just copy Hair's letter, inserting your own personal info, of course. ;o) It was really good!

Dude, it's already a done deal, because I need you to move in and help me keep this place clean. You honestly think we'd let you stop now?
Ugh, back from meeting. Time for a really hot shower, maybe that'll loosen my chest up.

Come to think of it, you don't like beets either. You been up north too long. It messin' with your mind. Honey, I didn't like em when I LIVED down South, I wasn't going to develop a taste for them up here! Turnips, mustards, collards; all them greens are just too bitter for me. And my Mama used to cook them to death and the house just STUNK! Cabbage and spinach were done the same way, though I've learned to like them as an adult. I either eat them raw, lightly steamed or stir fried. I just still can't abide the greens.
SSQ loved the Gumbo, and after dinner, which was late, we took our coffee and Red Velvet cake upstairs and, kids and all, sat in the bed watching "24".
He's hitting the sack early tonight though, cause he was up early and had several conference calls from home this morning and more meetings at work. He's pooped!

I like real vegetables. Leaves are for salads. And don't do anything to them but steam them a little.
Have I mentioned how much I love my steamer? ;-)

I really dislike Valentine's Day. It makes me remember my high school crush. I wish... well, if wishes were fishes, we'd all be drowned.
I ought to just go to bed.

Clare and I just finished watching the commentaries on a couple of the "Firefly" episodes. It is really a fun show! Too bad it got cancelled!

Goooood morning happy campers!
My dog Jack is such a dwarf. After inhaling his food and water with single-minded gusto, he comes up to me, gazes at me lovingly... and belches. :)

Well...the ice turned to slush, and mostly the roads are just wet. No snow day. *sniff*
