OK, fess up - who put me in the keywords?
Woot, I just ordered the rest of my computer. Well, not the peripherals. Gotta find a monitor somewhere... and a keyboard...
LOL!!!!
You're a riot.
;-)
*sigh* I really want a new computer! Mine is definitely getting long in the tooth, though it's still newer than a lot of the systems on campus.
The bummer is that I'd get a pretty decent discount if I ordered one while I'm an employee here - education discount, ya know. If I could be sure of an income, I'd go on and do it right before I left and just do a payment plan, and pay it off as soon as I could...but I think taking on still more debt is a baaaad idea right now.
However, if the house sold for more than I expect in my wildest dreams (unlikely), I suppose it might be an option.
You must owe then because I couldn't imagine waiting a year to get my money back! LOL!!
Heh, move out here and I'll build you a system one part at a time. Until I got that money yesterday I thought I'd by collecting bits until May...
Or do you want a laptop? That's trickier. I'm about to break down and put in a wireless network, by the way...
I don't wanna build. Doesn't appeal to me, though I know I could do it. If I were to get a desktop, I'd likely go with a refurbished Dell of some sort.
My current system is a laptop, and although I know you don't have as many options that way...I do really like the portability. Considering I mostly only use computers for word processing and general internet use...a laptop is fine.
Really my current system isn't so bad, except that it's clunky and starting to wear out piece by piece. It needs a new keyboard soon and a fan and the CD-R drive intermittantly wigs out.
~Heheh...~ I can picture that!
It is snowing HARD outside!! I just glanced outside and noticed it.
Joshua said "It looks like manna falling from the sky."
:-)
I'm so proud!
I was just coming here to surprise you by saying "It's snowing there, isn't it?"
Becky just showed me pictures of it on the saddle club thread.
Keep patting yourself on the back; you are a good friend to Celeste!
Isn't the Highland dancing more of a jig type? It's not percussive like the Irish step, which is what I just LOVE!
I dunno. Jig, to me, is a time signature, and they dance to jeels and reels and hornpipes and plenty of other tunes. They don't dance with taps, usually, though I've seen that done. The dances are pretty complex.
I think there are a lot of similarities and a lot of shared tunes, and I'm less clear on the differences! I just know what she was doing seemed to involve more legwork and less footwork than what I've seen the Highland dancers do, if that makes sense. Not so many foot positions, more moving around.
Took me off guard, that's for sure! LOL Just a few minutes longer and you would have surprised me good! I had the curtains drawn and would not have noticed it except it was open just a gap!!
It's really beautiful, but the chickens were out and WOULD NOT walk back through it to the coop! I had to get my coveralls on and CARRY them back to the coop! No kidding!
LOL What a great life.
What twits! Who gets the commission is between them and doesn't involve you either on the buying end OR the selling end.
When you're selling your home, you will sign a contract with the Realty agency that givees them exclusive rights to show your home. Any other realtor who wants to show it, has to inform your realtor who may contact you unless you've given instructions about when it's OK to show (while you're at work, etc). Until you sign that contract, you have NO obligation to stay with any one realtor or realty company. Feel free to talk to as many as you like, and if they don't suit you, don't sign a contract! We talked to four different realtors until we decided on one when we sold our house in NJ. If you 're having trouble getting someone from an agency to return your call when you want to SELL, I'd call another agency. Selling is money in their pocket, and if they're not interested, find someone who is!
It used to be that the selling realty company, the listing realtor, and the listing broker split it three ways. With all these big corporations doing real estate now, I don't know how it's split any more.
All good information - thanks!
I think I'll likely go with the agency I've contacted, if only because of their reputation and because they have far more of an internet presence than any of the others in the area, but I'll be careful about what I sign - if I don't feel right about things on Tuesday, I'll tell 'em I'm still considering my options. ;-)
I just hope they think I can get a decent price. From looking at other listings, I'm not altogether hopeful. But maybe I'll be surprised.
If you're comfortable with her, go for it!! It's a real plus that she's been in the area that long. She'll know real estate values well, and have a good idea of what kind of market there is for your house.
ROTFL!! You transferred the trauma to him!
