Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Tomorrow we may come this way...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Rose and I watch a
lot of TV. There's something on virtually every night of the week that we enjoy watching. In fact, this past Friday night I realized that we could potentially watch 7 different hour-long shows on that night alone, back-to-back. (I'll list them if anyone is curious...)
New England just scored to go up 21-14 over the Iggles!

Well I usually have the TV on but most of the time it's just background noise. I "watch" local news which is just a video version of the police blotter and the weather. I'll catch Simpsons reruns, an odd documentary now and then and I watch tapes and DVD's. I'm on Netflix....it's cheaper than cable and they have stuff I want to watch.

I used to like "I Dream of Jeannie," naturally.
And Jeanne and I enjoyed watching "Roswell" while it was on. The premise was just too irresistible, *teenage space aliens in love!*
I don't watch anything at the moment, but Jeanne has her shows - Alias is one of them.

Good grief, my siblings watched that in reruns a year or so back. I made them mad by wandering in, watching five minutes, making a comment about a character ("She's evil", I think it was) and being proved right episodes later. It was such a soap opera!
I do recall they got Jonathan Frakes (Riker from Star Trek Next Generation) to guest star a couple times... that was fun...

What I'm finding surprising are the number of shows that we enjoy watching right now... usually there are nights when we can't find anything we like and wind up watching a movie or ignoring the TV. But right now there are shows that we like on every night of the week, and on some nights two or three shows.

"Alias" is a favorite of ours too, as is "Lost", which is from the same producer and is on just before "Alias".
Soap operas are fun in part because of their predictability, at least to me! ;)

Lost was kinda interesting. But I just can't justify spending money on tv, not when I don't really have time to watch.

It was a soap opera for sure. The love stories just about drove me batty! I liked most of the characters, though, especially the blond, I forget her name. But the old Indian had to have been the dumbest Indian on TV. His character was kind of disrespectful to Indians, to tell the truth.

Hang in there with the second season of "24." It's not as good as the first. I'm liking the third season tho.
