The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

(thanks for the tip!!)

I've made several dresses - both for church and formals - over the years. *usually* I'm so frustrated with a piece that by the time it's finished I can't stand to wear it! LOL

I'm hoping this time will be different. If not, there's always another quilt to make. :)

If you can assemble things like computers, you can sew. A couple lessons and you'd be all set.

Mom tried and tried. See, I can't cut a straight line. And my measurements always came out wrong, and I broke the sewing machine...

Bobbins and I often disagree. I have to get both of my machines looked at one of these days.

And it never fails that when you're in a hurry to make something, the machine decides to exhibit some sort of problem that needs attending to RIGHT NOW! I just realized it has been quite a while since I took mine in for a good cleaning and overhaul. Probably a good time to do it since I won't need it for anything until the first of April. I'm gonna make a costume for Clare for a COSPlay at Anime Boston.

I just reserved a hotel room for us. We're staying at the Sheraton in Boston, which is attached to the convention center, and it's gonna be so nice. While the girls are doing their anime thing, my friends Gina, Sue and I can lounge in the indoor pool and whirlpool, or take in the sights of Boston. We're gonna try to get some half price tickets for a 'Broadway' show for either Friday or Saturday night. Woo Hoo!

Do check out Fabric Place. I've gotten some lovely goods there. They have great upholstery fabrics as well.

So maybe the house sold so fast that the people at work didn't have time to notice it was for sale?

Heh...it was so fast even the band won't have time to notice! The sign went up on a Wednesday and will come down Monday, if all goes well. Was never up on a Tuesday! But I'll likely be breaking it to them Tuesday anyway.

Mwahaha... you could just let them show up one night and find someone else living there!

So...as soon as the prayer warriors get me safely to my destination, is it your turn? ;-)

Gah...this still doesn't seem real to me. I feel like I'm in a waking dream. A week ago tonight...I was painting in here, and hoping to have the place sort of OK for the realtor. If I had only known...heh.

This is a classmate that's going to have a baby? Or another friend?

A classmate. I don't really have any friends outside the department. She's one of my two galpals.

The other friend is going to flip out when she hears. That's why I'm more or less under control, someone has to be reasonable here.

No. Which means things are going to be tricky for her and that's why she really needs my help.

Hopefully, she and the boyfriend will eventually get married, since of course I think kids kinda need both parents, but that's not my job...

hehehehe...

Prayer is one gift I'll never refuse, chica. ;-D

I figure the next couple of months will be a dream-like state for you until you're good and settled in CO. What an adventure!

Yeah...could certainly be tricky. Definitely one for the prayer list! I can do that...

Thanks... what's really scary is she's like me, hundreds of miles from family, and I rank as her expert on pregnancy and childcare.

Definitely an adventure.

I still have to decide on dates, too! How long I'm gonna live at home, whether I'm going to try to leave at the time of the wedding or after, and - trickiest of all - just when I'm gonna break it to 'em at work. I dunno if I should just give a coupla weeks notice when the time comes, or let them know right away that things will be happening soon.
