The Hobbit Hole XIX - Tomorrow we may come this way...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 01/27/2005 9:59:05 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Tomorrow we may come this way...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It's a 1995 with 35K miles (they say) but it is monstrously clean and showroom new.

Has it been parked somewhere most of the time? That's seriesly LOW mileage!!

Evil groundhog...

Though...we still don't have enough snow. Realtor lady said they've been having trouble with the signs, 'cause the ground is too frozen to put a sign in the ground, but there ain't enough snow to stick 'em in that. Heh...

That's another slightly scary thing, though. After today, there'll be a sign out in front of my house. In a small town like this, that means people are gonna talk, and wanna know what I'm up to. For now all I plan to 'fess up to is trying to sell the house. Only really close friends and family know about the other part of this...

Good morning. Death to Phil, although the winter here hasn't been that bad and we didn't get snow overnight after all.

Rosie, things are going well, so try not to worry too much.

Ecurbh, nice reminiscience...

Yah, but would you really expect a WIZARD to think of a plan like that in a pinch?

Just thought I'd pass this along.

xzins (fellow trouble maker in the crusades) tells me he just heard from his son and he's on his way home from Iraq.

We sent him a knife and perhaps some other items about a year ago.

Have you seen Pretear?

We bought and read the manga and then just saw the anime version. We liked the anime version better.

Well, GOOD! I've been sitting here, unable to leave the computer until you checked in safe!

Seriously! We've been wondering about you, disappointed that we seem to be such an easy habit to break.

Good morning to everyone!

I've been pondering and asking questions about a potential offer by my dad to give us his old truck. Trying to find out if it can pull a horse trailer if I take it easy and stay local. It's a late 80's Chevy half-ton. conversations about it has been on the saddle club thread... starting here if any of ya have any experiences to add to the mix:

ksen! Hiyah! Nice to see you!

Pretear looked a little too shoujo for me. I've seen the manga at B&N so I'll give it a look next time I go in.

My new series is Bleach - quite good, might be a little too adult in spots for the kiddoes.
